With Governer Sloan defecting to the Created, it would be a missed opportunity to not have a boss battle with him in Halo 6. So what would make the battle one to remember?
It should involve a lot of twists and the battle should change direction quickly being that he is an AI and control all types of technology. I can see him being high among cortana’s ranks so maybe he could have his own army of prometheans? The final segment should involve something that coincides with the story, maybe you have to do something to weaken cortana, and weakening cortana could destroy him in the process.

sounds great
Palmer: “AI commander Sloan has been located by the Temple. Take him out Spartan!”
It’s an interesting idea.
Maybe there could be a whole game dedicated to that. Killing his minions in round 1-4 and then he comes out in round 5.

343 already missed out with the deaths of Jul mdama and the didact, what makes u think they’ll have any future epic boss battles
Perhaps have him in a stolen Corperation pelican, and yes I know he’s an AI but it could be controlled by a person like someone that works for him and he could be “controlling” the pelican in a way. He would also have corperation vehicles around the pelican.

That is a good idea.

Tartarus was the best we’ll ever have sadly
No more boss battles in Halo!!! They dumb the game down.

I was fine with his boss battle and the 2 scarabs at once on the covenant in halo 3,but the didact qte was a joke and so was Jul mdamas death

How exactly?
Hopefully if we do see a Sloan boss battle, it’ll be a good one. We don’t see many good boss battles in Halo. The heretic leader in Halo 2 and the scarabs in Halo 3, and maybe the lower-leveled Grunt Goblins in Halo 5. No, the Warden Eternal is not a good boss fight, but I’d say only barely.
Ideally, a boss battle in Halo doesn’t feel like something apart from the rest of the campaign experience – a new challenge, yes, but not one that suddenly drops new rules on you (like the “you can’t hurt them right now” of Regret, Tartarus and Spark or the quick-time garbage of Didact). Instead, a boss battle should be about demanding the player to lean more heavily on one aspect of play than is usual. The Heretic Leader forces you to sneak and observe, and strike only with certainty of the target or reliable escape; the Scarabs of Halo 3 require you to engage your environment-navigational skills on an enemy, Shadow of the Colossus-style. Both of these boss fights can be finished in about ten seconds if you know your stuff (which indicates that they are a proper skill-based challenge, not a slog), and neither of them uses weird rules that forces you to ignore any of your Halo skills in taking them on.
That’s my thoughts. Sloan could be a boss in any number of ways, and as long as the above holds true, I’ll probably enjoy it.

halo kinda needs a proper one in halo 6, it would get a bit stale otherwise

maybe if we can get this idea on the top of the forums we can get a good boss battle

They barely look at these forums and even if they do they wouldn’t listen it’s there halo now and there gonna do what they want regardless of how there fans perceive it

A post of mine copied from earlier… sums up my thoughts pretty well.
"Some of the encounters are great, but I really wish Halo would do away with gimmicky boss battles and giant alien robots. If giant alien ships are**hovering/flying overhead, that’s cool… but giant squids and spider walkers? Lame…
Focus on creating epic BATTLES, large-scale action sequences… Defending the beacon on CE’s Halo mission… The Silent Cartographer’s beach raid, but on a much grander scale. Those are the benchmarks 343 should be shooting for, bar none…
Boss battles make a video game feel like, well… a game. Create an EXPERIENCE."
the combat style of halo feels like a duel to me. boss battles also feel like duels. because of both have a similar feel to me, i think we should an EXCELLENT boss battle in halo 6 that has minimal qte’s (or whatever they’re called). i also have optimism that 343 will listen to some of our ideas for halo 6

While I do agree the kraken was horrible I did enjoy the dual scarabs in halo 3 but ya guardians are just imo thrown in out of nowhere for a random 343 story idea

the kraken wasn’t a true boss, it was a set piece

True… but I wasn’t necessarily referring to it as a boss there… it was a partially about set-pieces too. Like in Halo 3: ODST, when the ships are flying overhead on the highway at the end of the game… THAT was cool. Same with Tsavo Highway in Halo 3… when that ship blasts over your head as you make your way out of the mountains. That’s cool… and with an epic battle sequence, it would be even better.
It’s all about creating a game around the best elements of Halo… CE didn’t have boss fights or these crazy, over-the-top set-pieces but was the best campaign of the series. What it DID do, was great battle sequences… something that no other Halo has done quite as well as the original. If Halo 6 can deliver CE-caliber encounters amped up to Xbone/Scorpio levels in what they can handle, and include set-pieces that are actually cool and aren’t these massive, unbelievable sorts of giant walker/creature inspired robots… just a bunch of ships/frigates fighting it out in the sky above with some air-to-surface attacks here and there to intensify the mood… that’d be awesome.
Create an IMMERSIVE, epic campaign… with great music to enhance the mood, in a way that Marty did. Where the player can actually get sucked into a somewhat believable Sci-Fi story… nothing outlandishly weird. Where battles have “weight” and the characters and friendly AI’s around feel important… The last few Halo campaigns have just felt so “out-there” relative to what Halo: CE was and where it was going. It’s hard to really care much for the story anymore because it just doesn’t feel like the same universe anymore… and this, to me, was even happening with Bungie with some of the things they did with H2/H3.
Idk, I just think Halo could’ve gone a much better direction than what it did over the years, and I said it in another thread… it hasn’t really matured with its original audience. In many ways, it’s done the opposite.
