Ideas for a New ODST Game

I am interested to hear some ideas for a new ODST like game because sadly I don’t know if we will ever get one but a rookie can dream. I personally would like to see a one in the realm of horror, where you are dropped into a planet or civilization that was overrun by flood or another parasitic type creature. Obviously it would have its twist and turns to add more enemy variety and story, but that’s all I got right now. So please feel free to either add on to that concept or explain your own ideas in any level of detail.

My Halo would be another ODST game set just after Earth has gone dark in Halo 5: Guardian’s ending. The opening level starts with you and part of your ODST squad in the weapons deck on the UNSC Sunrise. The Sunrise shudders several times, eventually going dark and emergency lights flash on and off with an alarm blaring. The Sunrise’s captain, Captain Alexander Dawson, announces over the ships intercom that the Sunrise has lost power to the engines and is caught in the Earth’s gravitational pull. He orders all personnel to the escape pods. As your team put on their helmets and race to the lifts, you radio the other members of your squad to meet them at the drop pods. As you and your team sprint down various corridors, parts of the ship are being torn away as the Sunrise plummets to the Earth, with marines being sucked out into the atmosphere before the squads very eyes. Your team make it to the lift, and hold the doors open for a couple of marines. Unfortunately, a hole gets torn in the hull and you watch as one of the marines grabs the other in an attempt to stop being sucked out into the atmosphere. One of your squad starts to move foward but is too late as both marines zoom out of the hole. You hit the button, the elevator doors close, and the lift rapidly descends to the lowest deck where the drop pods are located. You meet up with the rest of your squad and tell them that they are going to drop in thirty seconds. You and your squad climb into your pods and close the hatches. As the pods move over to the drop point, part of the Sunrise’s structure slams into the pod next you, damaging it extensively and prematurely forcing it to drop. You order your squad to manually override the drop countdown and to just drop. As your pod drops you gaze upon the Earth’s horizon and you see that the Sunrise isn’t the only ship to plumment but the Sunset, Andromeda, and a few others are also falling in a fireball towards the planet below with pelican dropships, drop pods, and longsword, shortsword, and broadsword fighters escaping from the hanger bays.As the screen fades to white, lots of radio chatter can be heard with various voices overlapping one another, and then the letters O.D.S.T. fade onto screen followed by the number 2. Then everything fades to black.

I would love to see another Halo ODST game and I think N7 177 should direct it

It will be great to see another Halo ODST video game happening in future Halo installments. I can see a new Halo ODST video game that is set after Halo 5: Guardians and before Halo Infinite.

A new ODST game.

How about a game where you play as a marine?
It’s really easy to die due to lack of health and shielding, you move very slowly and can’t even jump, and AI-controlled Spartans are constantly stealing your weapons, and giving you guns that have no ammo.

(P.S, I agree that an ODST 2 sounds cool, though. They should throw in reach-like customization)

I think maybe a new ODST game set between Halo 3 and 4 could be really cool. It could better explain how things like the Covenant and human relation between each other changed because I feel like Halo 4 didn’t do a good job explaining these crucial points in the series. Plus, it could show us how the ODST team has changed since their last game. I think an idea like that could have potential, though to be honest a new Halo meant to help explain what happens in a game that came out over seven years ago doesn’t sound too appealing.

That’s a cool concept but it sounds like the gameplay might be boring, limiting, and frustrating. The idea of a Halo game with the perspective of an ordinary soldier is really interesting though.

I think he was mostly joking.

It did seem that way, it’s just kind of hard to detect sarcasm or humor in written text like this.

“AI-controlled Spartans that constantly steal your weapons” was not a dead give away?

I’d be all about it! I’d also pull and hope for an ODST multiplayer. :pray:t3:

Good point

Halo: Insurrection. You play as a marine and/or a rebel during the uprising of the colonies under UNSC control. See the true purpose of why Spartan-IIs were developed.

That’d be cool. End the game on Harvest fighting the Covenant and maybe meet a SPARTAN-II.

Maybe one that takes place btw H4 and H5 so we can find out more deep infor on the whole nonsense that took place on H5.
