Ideas and Hopes for Halo Infinite

Hey guys. I’ve been a Halo player since CE and I always loved memorable moments and classic look to the Chief and the Covenant. After seeing what we have so far on Halo Infinite, it looks like 343 industries will be going back to the more familiar and loved look of the Chief. Do you think they will do the same for the covenant, UNSC, and the rest of the game? Look and feel in general. I really want classic gameplay brought back too. I’m all open to new vehicles, covenant species and weapons. I really want the classic Halo vibe back! Having amazing graphics with Series X is more than welcome! Always welcome. What do all you guys think? I would love to see the Banished in Halo Infinite. Also, I would really like to see some of the Covenant Fringe species be a part of the covenant officially. I’d like to see the Sniper, Tankbeast, and Drinol (Sharquoi) from old Bungie concept introduced wether they are confirmed or not confirmed Fringe species. I realize the Sharquoi are very much confirmed canon. Recent book called Envoy has them in it. Wanted to know your guy’s thoughts?

We’ve seen some toys that have had the more classic look to them, I think they’re redesigning a lot of the covenant stuff which I’m happy about if true. What I’m most interested in though is the Prometheans. I hope they get a complete overhaul but I have a feeling they won’t change much.

The art style appears a little bit reminiscent to Bungie’s, even the pilot had the classic UNSC logo symbol on his shoulder. I liked 343’s artstyle but I also like this current one as well. For the covenant, can’t really tell at this point. Once I heard the covenant designs will be a combination of all of them over the years but that was merely a rumor. When it comes to capturing the classic vibes, I think they will do it to a certain extent gameplay-wise (but not entirely) since the Gen 3 Mjolnir armor is meant to have more “favorable classic performance.” But John placed his assault rifle vertically instead of diagonally in Discovery Hope. The horizontal placement started In Halo 5 for the sake of the Spartan-Abilities, which I personally liked since it finally made the Spartan Super Soldiers feel like super soldiers in-game, plus it fit Halo from a lore standpoint. In terms of canonicity, 343 are like the Avengers of canon status since they try to save all content and canonize it no matter how obscure it is, like I Love Bees.

It’s nice to hear from others on what they think. I agree on some ideas that you guys have for Infinite. Can’t wait to see what 343 industries does with Halo Infinite! I have very high hopes and high expectations honestly. Fringe species would be fantastic. So for 343, it sounds like the Sniper and Tankbeast from Bungie concepts are completely plausible if they like to canonize as much as they can.

I wish we could have ocean and underwater battles witch would give us new weapons, vehicles, armors.

I hear we may be seeing boats or something lol. I also would not mind seeing the Banished in Infinite.

-Being able to fight in outer space with thruster packs. This could be a possibility as Chief jumps out of the pelican into outer space towards a threat.

-Water combat: Boat toy and the E3 2018 trailer showing an underwater sentinel do hint at it.

-Riding animals: I’m serious on this one would be cool. Halo CE was originally going to have that. And Infinite is clearly going towards Bungie’s original vision for CE

Make promethean weapons more interesting than orange versions of the other weapons. Allow us to customize the color and shape of our reticles.

I absolutely think space combat, water combat, and riding animals would be fantastic. Not sure we will be seeing the prometheans. It is a fresh start after all. Looks like we may be seeing the Banished now though. I am very happy to see the Banished come to the game if they do. Megabloks leaks may have confirmed that. That would be awesome to see the Banished in Infinite. Still hoping to see some Covenant Fringe be a part of the covenant officially in Halo Infinite. Could be very possible after seeing everything so far and people’s thoughts.

It seems like they are going back to classic art style, so they’ll probably have to redesign the Prometheans to fit in.

This game seems like it’s going to be an absolute smorgasbord of races/factions/enemies! I’m hoping this gives them an excuse to bring back every single weapon and vehicle from previous titles, though some may have to be tuned to fit the new sandbox.

Additionally, i’d like to see some innovation come from the Prometheans. I get that they’re digitized human souls (or whatever) so it makes sense that the weapons would be semi-familiar to humans, but i’d really like my mind blown here. It’s a big waste to create a whole new race/faction and still feel like there is less content in the game (and less diverse too). I also never really got the impression that their weaponry would be particularly effective against the flood (their design purpose), but maybe that’s just be cause we haven’t seen them in the same game (yet?).

Boats and water would be cool. One of the most annoying things about Halo 5 forge is that you can’t add water to maps that don’t start with water. Hopefully if they added boats they add the ability to place water as well.

Love the post, completely agree. Classic game play with new innovations.

Honestly, my primary hope/concern for Infinite’s campaign is that we have a primary antagonist to fight against which is more compelling than the Prometheans.

I just can’t take another campaign fighting against the same angular, grey robots with zero personality which all fire the same orange “hard lite” at us.

Give us some bloody diversity. The Covenant had such an amazing group of diverse enemy types with unique visual styles/ranks, fighting styles and weaponry.

With the Prometheans it’s, “oh look, another grey robot with an angular, metallic weapon which blends in their silhouette that also shoots orange stuff but this one has different color eyes!!!”

I reaaly hope that we will be able to explore a large piece of the Halo (07) and to play vampain in Co-Op.
Ihope that ;
1- We see the Flood
2- we see the banished
3- we see the Spirit Of Fire
4- the classic odst (not the sapartanized ones) are back (the toys seem to be going in that direction)
5- marines are funny
6- at the biggining we should be like reeeaally losing, this will bring back the filling of previous halos
7- more weapons, not copies of unsc or covenant ones, somethin more special.
8-More classic art-style

For the multyplayer;
Rech one is my favourite and (unpopular opinion) i only dislike Halo 3 multi
reach costumisation
halo 5 warzone
a mix of cool gamemodes
reach firefight
more casual playlists

I really hope the campaign involves flying the pelican to various sites around Zeta Halo, almost a ODST style approach to gameplay. It would be mind-blowingly impressive if we could fly around the ring and down to the surface without loading screens as well.

Can’t agree more. The Prometheans are the most boring enemies we’ve seen in Halo. On top of that in pre 343i games we had the Covenant AND the Flood. Now it’s just boring scraps of metal to shoot at. Really really really hoping they make some major overhauls to this.

I definitely agree with the both of you as the Prometheans got kind of repetitive and boring. By the looks of things, I don’t think we will be seeing the Prometheans so that’s a plus. Also that new teaser confirms the Banished so that’s awesome as heck! That’s some diversity haha. Chief vs. Atriox, that’s a showdown. We got Brutes coming back.

That new Halo Infinite teaser trailer definitely confirms the Banished so that’s amazing! I’m really excited about that. Chief vs. Atriox will be a showdown of the ages. So we will probably also see the Spirit Of Fire as well. Maybe the Flood. Not sure. The Banished with a classic art style will be really cool.

That is an interesting idea and I am not opposed to that. With the Series X, I guarantee you that we would be able to fly around the ring and land anywhere we want with no load times. Halo Infinite will probably also be open world and that’s actually pretty cool. Massive battles with hundreds of Banished and Covenant AI will be possible with Series X as well. The Banished are confirmed now so massive battles with them will be amazing. I have a feeling Infinite will be breath taking and a fantastic game!

Halo Infinite is looking to be an amazing game and a breath taking experience. I’m buying the Series X so that I can experience Halo Infinite on the next generation and I hope that all of you can too. The Banished being actually confirmed now is awesome and I can’t wait to fight massive battles with them. Chief vs. Atriox, that will be an awesome showdown. We now have more diversity in Halo Infinite and it’s looking to be an open world game so that’s pretty awesome! As long as they keep that classic gameplay I hope. I like the innovations that we are seeing so far. The July event will show us the gameplay and an official trailer I’m guessing so that will be awesome. I have high hopes that 343 Industries can finally make a spectacular Halo game that will blow us away and so far with the classic art style returning and the Banished on Zeta Halo, that sounds pretty amazing to me. I know they will hit it out of the park at the July Xbox event and will really show us how amazing of a game I think Halo Infinite will be.
