So I’ve been playing a fair amount of training mode during the last weekend and I tend to forget that I’m not in a custom game which would end eventually. Overall I’d say that it’s a pretty good sign for Halo Infinite that I’m able to play the game and forget about time, but I think for launch or after a neat feature could be an End Condition.
What I mean by that, is a condition that can be set by the player before going into training mode, that will eventually end the game (i.e. “end the game when I get X number of kills”, or “end the game when X minutes have passed”). This would, of course, not replace endless mode, just offer an alternative. A use case could be for someone (like me) who wants to warm up before the real deal (matchmaking), but doesn’t want to forget about actual pvp and sink in an unnecessary amount of time.
This is by all means not a terribly important feature, but I think it fits perfectly fine into the category “nice to have” and I would personally appreciate not having to set a timer on my phone. Any thoughts on this?
That’s actually a great addition, it’s a simple as being able to set training goals for your session which is exactly what the mode should be about. If your training without a goal, you are only playing (as the athletes bumper sticker says lol).
Something I’m missing as well is training statistics. I would really like to be able to see how many shots I’ve hit etc when practicing things.
Training is not that far off from Firefight, if there’s no Firefight in Infinite. All the more reason to incorporate a timer or end conditions into Training.
Huge agree, would be great to set a timer. Like the idea of X kills or X headshots too.
Would like to be able to set gametypes too in case you want to practice Oddball or Hill without it being a game with an end and could be changed at any time.
Also agree. I was actually quite surprised to not find that in the flight. I thought there would be an option to play a game of Team Slayer at least, along with stats for the current session. A kill/death counter at the very least. These would be useful tools. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve already added this to the current-day build. I know they were talking about being close to having bots accurately simulate a game of CTF in the latest technical preview video, but that was specifically in reference to Bot Arena.
