It’s been in there since Reach, and it’s kind of annoying. I was wondering if we had a “dominance” system. Meaning when two pieces flicker, you select one of the pieces and select “dominant”, by default all the other pieces are recessive. Dominance makes the piece overlay all the other pieces, rather than them both trying to overlay each other.
it’s a great idea, but i think that if it were to be done, it would have to have been done in the earlier stages of developing the engine/forge. All we can do is hope they implement it into Halo 5
It’s a good idea - I thought they would’ve fixed it, but meh…
The flicker drives me up the wall - I take a few minutes and slightly tilt one of the pieces until it stops, but not enough to cause a disturbance in the playing surface.
Of my knowledge, this flicker crap dates back as far as the “Far Cry Instincts” map editor (approximately 2005)

Yeah what I do to solve the problem is hit the bumper to raise it and then hit A really fast so there is no noticeable change. It stops the flicker.
In Reach you could use the precision forging tool to move a piece above the other so slightly that the flicker would go away but the bump would be negligible. However, 343i in their infinite wisdom decided to remove that tool and not give us any alternative tool to replace it.

The tool that was meant to replace it was magnets, and we see now that it is more of an individual tool of its own kind rather than a replacement for fine editing.
impossible… it’s a texture thing. can’t get rid of it, other then better placement. it’s outside the engine. outside the game. unfixable…
