idea to help with party advantages

Since it seems impossible to match other parties using the basic mm algorithms I propose that there be playlists similar to Halo wars lists. Party teams. It could be hidden or visible. For example if you have a full party of players you can only look in a list of team slayer against other parties of 3-4. Duos and randoms would be split into a separate list so that way they wouldn’t get absolutely hammered by parties or you could try a mercenary system where solos can search against other solos. This would definitely at least help in BTB playlists where competitive full parties will almost never lose.

It’s a rough idea now, but I’m tired of being put against bigger parties who are uber competitive as a small team or a solo player. It ruins the fun you can have with the game when you’re solo, you’re teammates so their own thing or quit or something and the enemy team is team shotting everything they see.

This is just a basic idea so I want other people to help flesh this out and hopefully we can give 343 ideas since they seem to be ignoring the near perfect system that was Halo 3 ranked and social.

Just another thing the original Halo 3 did right! It attempted to match parties with parties, often if searching in group of 3 or 4 you would match up vs a group of 3 or 4. 343 have only been going backwards regarding matchmaking, parties etc

or at least get other people your skill level who would actually communicate because it was ranked lists.

in social you didn’t really worry/care because the parties wouldn’t be ridiculously tactical and played for fun.

I still remember playing the full parties of forerunners or higher in Halo Reach BTB with usually 2-3 other players in my party of greatly varying skill shudders

100% necessary and desired.

343 really needs to hire some group to teach them a thing or two about matchmaking because honestly I’m surprised that people arent getting fired over their horrible MM record.

Hell take some pointers from COD even.

it doesn’t even need the pointers from CoD the basic system from Halo 3 is there. It worked pretty much every time. Sure there were boosters in ranked, but for the most part the ranked was really well made and balanced. I don’t see what keeps 343 from just going back to it other than they refuse to use anything from Bungie’s Halo because they want to make “their own game.”

Its not a rough idea. You just described what Bungie did 8 years ago in Halo 3. I dont understand how 343 can not do something that was easy a decade ago.

haha I meant something besides Halo 3, but yea the Halo 3 system is the ideal.

I definitely agree that parties should most likely match other parties. Additionally I’d like for them to bring back the ability to see who is together in a party while in the pre-game lobby. In Reach you could do this by just highlighting someone’s name and it would show their entire party, but H4 and the H5 beta both lack this feature.
