Idea to balanc BR

Make the damage per shot hit x1.5 the damage of a single DMR shot. This makes it a 4sk. But (so as to not make it overpowered at mid-long ranges):

  1. increase the recoil slightly so only 1/3 shots hits at (insert balanced range), that is saying you don’t try to control the recoil

OR

  1. increase the cross hair size

OR

  1. add a damage drop off:
    (I don’t know if the below stuff is balanced but it is only for examples)

Say it is 1.5x damage of a DMR shot at ranges 0-50 meters. This means a shot will lose damage as it goes out farther. At 51 meters (and on), it would be 1x the damage of a DMR shot.

Examples:

Say you engage someone that is 63 meters away, your damage will be 1x the damage of a DMR shot. On the other side though, say you engage someone at 34 meters away, your damage will be 1.5x the damage of a DMR shot.

Well that’s mine, any comments or another way to balance the BR (don’t say nerf the DMR, it is correctly balanced in my opinion)

The DMR shouldn’t even be in the game, thats the truth. Buff the BR to 4sk at any range and for the love of everything holy get rid of that god-awful bullet magnetism on the DMR

Math fail. 1.25 times the BR’s current damage is a 4SK, not 1.5 times the DMR’s, which would make it a ludicrously OP 3SK.

5 / 1.25 = 4

4 / 1.5 = 2.667

Not that the BR should be buffed anyways. The BR is already balanced, it’s the DMR that needs tweaking.

Exactly. BR is balanced. DMR requires a nerf to balance it.

1.5 x 3 = 4.5

1.25 x 3 = 4

Both have a 4sk, the reason I added the extra .25 is because it is supposed to be a close range weapon so it should do more damage close range. I am favoring the 3rd option I put out because it gives a rock/paper/scissors thing with the DMR and BR. Maybe make the drop off 30 meters instead of 50.

No. You need to take the number of shots required to kill with the current damage per shot and divide it by however many times the current damage per shot the proposed damage per shot is to get shots to kill.

The BR is currently a 5SK, so with 1.25 times the damage you get 5 / 1.25 = 4

The DMR is 4SK, so at 1.5 times the damage we have 4 / 1.5 = 2.6666666666666…

I did it by DMR’s damage. Simpler to me at least.

Your just talking about the DMR and BR don’t forget about the Lightrifle and Covenant Carbine would also have to be rebalanced if the BR is changed. What makes more sence is rebalancing the DMR.

Plus the sidearms, automatics, and pretty much every other damn weapon in the game.

This. I’m sick of people asking for a BR buff. The BR is perfect this time around. The DMR is the issue. If the BR was to be buffed, it would be overpowered.

Nerf the DMR. Boost the BR. Whatever…

Then those of us who just play, instead of whine, will simply start team shooting you with the BR and then you can spend all your time on the forums crying about how BR’s are ruining this game. Doesn’t bother me either way, they are both good weapons.

Don’t buff the BR… you’ll throw everything else off. The DMR is the one problem amongst the precision loadout weapons, so focus on that.
