Something Infinite needs to do better is show the player what si goign to happen and give them a warning before the boss uses a one hit kill move like Bassus’ lunge. If bassus wound uo before he lunged and gave a good player enough time to grapple out of the way then he would be a much better fight.
Jega does it quite well as when he goes true invisible, you hear him right before he lunges and you can dash out of the way if you are good. It is perfect.
That’s the problem. There is no soft or hard telegraphing. It’s random and instant. The fact people have to find ways to cheese, or glitch the game is insane. I did it the old fashion way which took ages of luck.
The issue is that all Chieften Hammer lunges are too fast.
We didn’t have this problem in H2 because Tartarus has like 10 outta 10 air time and could probably nail a triple backflip in one jump.
Then there’s the AoE.
I think they should make the Chieften’s roar first before their lunge. Like you know older Halos when you shoot off their Helmet and they roar in a feral manner? Like that.
Bassus pulls back his hammer before swinging/lunging …Imagine that eh…Hmmmmm!
Its a pretty huge telegraphed action that gives you so much time to grapple past as he cant hit you mid swing, how can people not see this? You all must be panicking, he is prolly this easiest boss in the game but you all bottle it & get flustered, too busy running away to see what he is doing.
Grapple past, crouch slide jump gives you all the time in the world to 180 shoot, rinse repeat.
Tremonius & the Chieftain in harbinger on ledgendary are the real MVP’s
Nah no chance am 45yrs old, most of the HVT’s are harder than bassus (on legendary if you 1 v them & not razorback marine cheese them lol)
Just think ppl panic & overexaggerate Bassus.
Btw you can cheese B assus too with marines if you drive razorback into grave lift & get out then the marines will get out & be up top, if any arent, use the button to turn of grav lift, go down move vehicle & push remaining marines into lift zone, grapple up turn on lift to get them up, if they have sentinel beams Bassus is dead at end of cut scene.
