Idea on how to better implement Ordnance.

Normal Ordnance as it should just be scrapped.

Random weapon drops at random locations, there’s just too much wrong with that to salvage it.

As for Personal Ordnance? I can see ways to better implement it.

First, grant it at X kills. Fixed number and it’s trackable by everyone involved. Second, as soon as the player hits X kills the Ordnance is dropped to the map. Third, it doesn’t drop at the players feet, but instead drops at one of the PW locations on the map, specifically the one farthest away and with the fewest number of people next to it. Fourth, a global timer is displayed to everyone involved counting down to when it will drop as well as what will drop.

While I am not a fan of POD as it is either, your suggestion completely removes the “personal” out of personal ordnance.

If we want to change POD for the better I think the meter needs to reset if you are killed, and it needs to be tiered to where the more powerful ordnance is only obtained after receiving crappier ordnance first.

I applaud you thinking outside the box, but I’m not sure your ideas would work.

That ruins the “personal” part. I think everyone having power weapons is the main problem with personal ordnance. In my opinion, Ordnance should consist of:
Armor abilities
Power ups
Ammo
Grenades
Semi-power weapons (sticky det, needler, etc.)
Perks (stay with you after death)
