Cruiser Assault:
If anyone has played Battlefield 2142, you get a cookie for knowing this.
Basically, this idea is based off of Battlefield 2142’s Titan Mode, now before you go off on me about Halo taking ideas from a game, hear me out.
Titan mode was a GIANT map based game in which on two sides of the map were these cruisers that were like half the size of a Covenant Cruiser, maybe 1/4’th of it, and it had a cargo bay, a back loading bay, four console room’s a reactor room, a front hangar bay in which player’s spawned in and had a troop carrier, much like a pelican, and an attack hover-jet, like a Hornet only much better (since it didn’t have propellers or heli-blades)
And below said Titan’s were outposts which housed a satellite system for UVA’s, and EMP Missile launch, and a Care Package Delivery system, as well as tank’s, ground troop carriers, jeeps, etc.
on the maps were five key points which were the first objectives of the entire game, and they were Anti-Titan Missile Launchers which, while controlling them, would launch an AT Missile at the enemy titan and bring down their shields, so controlling these were as key as getting on the enemy titan. Then after the shields are down, you grab a ground troop transport, or an air troop transport and head to the enemy titan and either land the air transport on the back, or do what any other player does and eject from the air or ground transport via a Drop-pod (that’s right, Drop-pod.)
So then you had to take out the 4 consoles on this ship, in which, to get to them you had to go through these hallways (and remember, this is the enemies main spawn/base), destroy the consoles, and have the doors to the reactor room blow open so you could get in there, destroy the reactor and then jump off for a nice parachute down to the ground where you got an extra-pin and a front row seat of watching that baby blow sky-high.
Point is; Wouldn’t it be sick if we had a UNSC Cruiser (like In Amber Clad or Forward Unto Dawn class cruisers) vs Covenant or Same Class Cruisers and did something like that? ( I could see it happening seeing as they are all in a hologram system and if the Pillar of Autumn is like three times the size of those frigates, then I’m damn sure the Infinity makes those frigates seem like pelicans do when they are compared to them. So I could see this being easy to replicate in a combat deck on a -Yoinking!- super-carrier like the Infinity)
Second Game Type:
Base Control
Now, we all know we love the base vs base combat.
well, what if we have something like, say, area control + 5 bases.
That’s right 5 bases. And I’m not talking Blood Gulch outposts here.
I’m talking about grounded, made into a full working outport, Elephant or equivalent type deal. Like fully functional Firebases with working computer tech rooms to use for stuff like defensive systems, etc. all while dealing with a big blue or red team.
I know what your thinking; (this guys is just a lover of BTB) but you have to admit, these game types sound sick (at least the top one anyway, this bottom one is a little half–Yoinked!- compared to the one above.
