So we all know that Zombies cannot Sprint in Halo 5’s Infection, but there was one neat idea I thought about a while back. On the HUD of every zombie, there would be a special counter that is set to zero by default. As they kill more survivors in successive order, the counter rises up and in turn, rewards the infected player a slight increase in movement speed with each person they kill. Should one zombie kill enough survivors without dying, they’ll move as fast as a survivor that is running at full speed - if not, faster.
Of course, the Infected still cannot actually Sprint, they’ll simply move much quicker than normal Infected. However, should an infected player get killed, their counter gets reset back to zero, and they lose all of their increased speed. It would be a pretty fair tradeoff, since one Zombie would become too overpowered.
Should the Infected Energy Sword (with the aforementioned counter mechanic) be implemented as a REQ weapon for Warzone use, this Energy Sword would be an absolute beast with Overshield, Speed Boost, Active Camo, and to a much lesser extent, Damage Boost. And since you’re playing in Warzone…YOU’D BE ABLE TO SPRINT WITH THIS THING - IMAGINE HOW FAST YOU’D BE MOVING WITH MULTIPLE KILLS UNDER YOUR BELT. Of course, should you get killed while holding the sword, you lose your speed bonus. Should someone else (teammate or enemy) pick it up, they’ll instead be treated to the regular speed boost of the standard Energy Sword.
So what do you guys think? Could this “counter mechanic” work out for the Infected Energy Sword, or is it simply too ridiculous to be implemented?
