Idea: Human-Forerunner War sub-series of games

Lots of people have tons of awesome ideas for spin-offs, from an Insurrection game, to Harvest, to Silent Shadow, and more. However, there’s an era that I think has potential not just for a spin-off, but an entire ‘sub-series’ if you will. This being the ancient era, moreso the Human-Forerunner War. This conflict lasted 1,000 years, and is ripe with potential. With this being a ‘sub-series’ from the main games, whoever is making them could experiment more and do things not regularly seen in the series. I would absolutely love to see this era and conflict as it’s own sub-series of sorts, I think there’s a lot there. What’d you think?

I thought a Halo Wars/Empire at War style game from this period would be insane, given all we hear about the ship battles and engagements of two galaxy-spanning technological titans.

That I agree with, I loved the feel that ODST and Reach presented to us. ODST showing us how… Powerless we were without Master Chief and Reach showing us what the full might of the Covenant when they invaded planets.

I’m going to be… Controversial here slightly, I have a feeling that Halo Infinite is going to have multiple campaigns. The main storyline (With Chief and the Banished) And maybe we could expect some side stories alongside it. I mean, Infinite is an open world! I see no reason as to not spice things up slightly with maybe another shot at a ODST styles campaign or maybe something similar to Halo 4’s Spartan OP’s! But again, time will tell if my gut instincts are right. After all, we can’t rush 343. As games take time and effort to make.
