Idea for sprint

Although a lot of us don’t want sprint, I’ve devised a solution for sprint anyway. Sprint should work depending on the state of your shields. If you have full shields, you can run at full speed. However, if you get shot once, your sprint speed drops to 75%; if you’re shot again, 50%; again 25%; finally, once your shields are gone, you can’t sprint at all. This system would mean that people can’t simply run away from their mistakes. It would also allow people to move through the map quickly, when they spawn, or on a large map. Though, at the same time, it maintains Halo’s competitive aspect.

Great Idea Sprint has many purposes and people just want to see how it hinders them not its applications.

Well I’m sorry, just trying to throw my ideas out there. I don’t go on this forum very often, so I wouldn’t know if it had been thought of. Neither did I know that people spam this forum about sprint…

Complaining doesn’t help.

If you’re so tired of these threads, there is something called “ignoring them.”

OT: Great idea, OP.

Decent idea. Im sure 343 will do something to erm ‘fix’ sprinta anyway.

I have my full faith in 343. I’m sure they won’t screw this game up, otherwise no one will trust them, and will be unlikely to buy the rest of their Halo games. Though, I’d probably buy them anyway.

Yep.

This hardly solves anything…

This is one of the reasons sprint sucks. You should have to fight off enemies if they’re in your spawn rather than getting the easy way out.

Which is where this system comes in. They won’t be able to sprint away so easily if you shoot at them…

This doesn’t make much sense honestly.

Why should the person close to death not be able to escape it, but those who got the jump on people and surprised them should get an advantage? This would have people running straight through the middle of the map to kill you and chase you down and there’s nothing you’d be able to do.

If anything, the opposite would make more sense I think. Where you can only sprint so fast with full shields, but once you’re weak, then you can sprint faster.

What sounds a lot more reasonable to me is this: The time for your shields to recharge doesn’t get counted as long as your sprinting. So you can’t recharge your shields if you’re sprinting.
