idea for sniping/firing dynamics

In Halo campaigns, if you kill enemies right before they’re about to fire the shot will go off wildly as they die. It’s a neat dynamic as you sometimes see those sniper beams and charged plasma bolts hit other enemies. It would be cool to see this incorporated into multiplayer so if the enemy spartan is firing or pressed the trigger a split second after dying his weapon would still go off, though inaccurately. Anyone have thoughts on this?

I’d have to be in the camp of leaving that as a campaign/PvE element only. I agree that it’s cool, and it makes sense. But in MP I can imagine that it would be super frustrating to take somebody down just before they were going to fire and miss you just for their shot to connect because you took them down. Outside of that, which admittedly probably would almost never happen, I can imagine a lot of WTF deaths as the result of a rocket launched or Incineration canon going off in that scenario.

Maybe, maybe in BTB and Warzone. But in anything more seriously competitive playlists, the random element is just an opportunity for the game to have a bizarre skill gap.

I agree that it wouldn’t work well in competitive ranked games. It would be best in Warzone type games, or at least an option to turn on/off in custom games.

Campaign already had this dynamic…well, to my knowledge in Halo 2 when elites died and even jackal snipers they would randomly shoot sometimes after death. Not sure I remember if newer titles retained that, but I do specifically remember the above clearly.

I think I’d rather this stay in campaign.

Wasted game memory for something that isn’t really useful or needed IMO.
