Didn’t we love to get to 50 skill in halo 3?
I did! ( for many ppl unable to reach )
My idea for the new halo ranking would be as followed:
A number based skill mabye with a rank name at certain rank.
Like a 1 to 100 skill in every playlist.
2 points for a win -1 for a loss.
Easy mecanic, easy to understand for everyone.
I think ppl will like the progress they make.
Its less stressing for the majority of players.
More ppl will be able to reach the max rank of 100 than like champion in halo 5.
In ranked mode it can search ppl with similair rank and in social its random but also with a personal 1-100 rank that shows how well you play but doesn’t count for ranked.
People will play more for a win in a game then just kill, they will work together more becouse they want those 2 points!
This is just something that i would like to see.
Its not perfect but just an idea.
343 why make it hard when you can make it easy
As much as id love a W/L system be implemented, I don’t see it changing. Its shame because I loved getting a 50 in H3. In H5 I could care less. I gave up after not moving an inch after winning 20 games in a row, so I don’t bother anymore.
Or, just do what H2 did.
If a much higher level team than the other wins, they gain less rank xp and the lower level team lose less.
If that higher level team loses they lose a lot more rank xp and the lower gains more than normal.
It’s simple but quite effective imo. Then you can have the top 200 players in rank xp have a champion rank.
There’s probably a problem I’m not thinking of here…

Thats essentially what H5 does no?

Not quite. While the Halo 2 ranking system was simply comparing average ranks across the two teams and providing an output for different cases, the Halo 5 system uses your MMR to place you.
In Halo 5, upon placement, you are placed 200 CSR points below your MMR. if there are 300 CSR points per division, and 50 CSR points per rank, you easily place 4 ranks below your MMR.
If your MMR is lower than your CSR you will lose 15 CSR Points for a loss and gain 1 for a win; but, if your MMR is higher than your CSR, you will gain 15 per win and lose 1 per loss. Unless your MMR and CSR are equal where you gain/lose 1 point either way.

I just want to move up for a win, down for a loss. I feel the system has gone way far into the small details.

Only if your MMR doesn’t change with the win/loss. If your MMR and CSR are equal, and you win and you MMR goes up, you’ll get +15 CSR. Similarly, if you lose and your MMR goes down, you get -15 CSR. Whether your MMR changes is dependent on 1) whether you win/lose, and 2) how well you performed.
In a nutshell, your rank will try to stick close to your skill once they match.

Thanks for that, I wasn’t quite 100% sure on the case for equal CSR and MMR
