So I have been a large halo fan for a long time. I own every halo game except the new Halo Wars 2. To prepare for Halo Wars 2 I decided to play through the first Halo Wars all over again. One thing that caught my eye during my game play was the large number of Insurgent forces scattered throughout some of the maps. I started thinking and noticed that the insurgents had not played a large role in many of the Halo games, despite Halo Wars and briefly being mentioned in Halo Reach. My idea is a Halo game that would focus on the Insurgents and possibly even play as one. I understand that most people would not want to fight against the UNSC but image being in a small insurgent camp experiencing the beginning of the human convergent war. Or it could take place later in the halo universe as we know the insurgent are still around. We could bring in a known character in the form of Mikey. He could serve as the main playable character. It would be a nice change from always having the large military and equipment of the UNSC and showcase a force largely overlooked. This was my idea, what do you think??? Thanks to those who read the whole thing.
I always thought a marine based game where you fight the insurrection, then slowly move into the first encounters of the covenant would be cool

that would be cool, but I would love to fight as an insurgent, give you a new viewpoint separate from the UNSC
I mentioned this in another thread some months ago; I’d like to see a slower paced tactical FPS with realistic elements and missions that make you use your brain. Sort of like the older Rainbow Six & Ghost Recon games- I envision it sort of like a lite ArmA that’s focused on smaller engagements and smoother CQC. It would feature ODSTs fighting the Insurrectionists before the Human/Covenant war. Complete with a loadout customization and team selection, as well as co-op & competitive multiplayer. All of the Halo games focus on fighting the Forerunners and Covenant, and we’ve never seen a proper Insurrection game. I know the Insurrection has been explored a lot in the early novels but if I were to never read the books I’d haven’t too much of a clue about the universe before the Human/Covenant war. It would be a great opportunity for 343i to explore and expand upon the Halo universe before the war and give it some extra seasoning.

Thats what im saying, so much can be done with the insurrection , before or during the war
As a Halo lore nut (read all the books once & played all the games many times over), I couldn’t agree more. I think this setting could be the next ‘Halo 3: ODST’ type game (spin-off between numbered Halo games), and it would be amazing.
Carefull, there are a lot of wishlist pages in the forum, you might get a visit from a monitor, kust a freindly warning from someone with experience

It would be awsome
