Now everyone knows how Emile has his one red shoulder and Jorge has about 4 differnt armor colors. I was thinkig that for H4, instead of the Armor Primary & Secondary colors, they could implement an armor tagging system. What it will be is you can select a single piece of your armor, like a single shoulder, your chest, leg armor, arm guards etc., etc. and change the color of just that piece. However, if you want something to start with, you could choose your entire armor and set a base color, then start customizing.
I always thought it would have been cool to have kept Halo 3’s Primary, Secondary and Detail colour system. Except that the Detail colour could become a little more prominent instead of just a stripe on the leg and arm.
That’s true haha. As the Secondary colour didn’t appear like it did before in Halo 2, I’d always be looking at the armour Detail colour to identify dopplegangers in Halo 3 hehe.
I admit, the game design comes first, but it would add a nice layer of depth to the game, and people won’t go around looking like each other all the time

You do know that halo 4 is a huge–Yoink- project with hundreds of people probably working on it??
Hell, 343i probably even has a separate team dedicated just for armor customization for multiplayer. And I’m sure they’ve got more than enough peeps working on the gameplay portion as well.
I hope you can choose perks for your armor. In Halo Reach some armor customizations felt kind of empty after I purchased them, especially the later ones after some hard work. It’s just some extra pouch or some extra jagged edge. Of course, I hope the perks don’t mess Halo Multiplayer up. Just stuff like increased ammo for assault rifle, or increased sniper range, or slightly increased jet fuel. But minor things so it doesn’t make gameplay unfair like a guy sniping with an assault rifle or something
I actually had an idea like this earlyer today except call it ARMOUR ADVANTAGES. For example, lets say you bought new boots(someone mentioned boots before) there would be a description in a box(+ faster movement). Or if you bought a chest plate (+increased bullet resistense) and lets say gloves were customizable(+increased melee damage, not enough to kill, but enough to ‘one shot’ easely). But in order to prevent a player from putting all defense armour and becoming a juggernot, there will be a cap on how much defensive or offensive or tactical armour you can have, an example of tactical armour would be gloves with tiny tazzers on the tip and every time you meleed an enemy he/she would be immobolized for a split second and in order to prevent cheap kills the melee wouldn’t do as much damage as regular melee.
Maybe another ARMOUR ADVENTAGE classafication would be ‘veteran armour’ examples: bigger ammo clip, faster fire rate, switch between weapons faster, ability to carry THREE weapons at once, higher jump hight, faster assinations(if they come back in H4) etc. These ARMOUR ADVANTAGES would only be availible once you acheive a certain rank so players would be encouraged to play better.
These ARMOUR ADVANTAGES will always come with the armour you unlock/purchase(depending on the ranking system). Also, Veteran Armour would be more expensive/harder to unlock. I think this should take the place of armour abilities because too many people complain about them. Also, maybe keep sprint as a default to speed up pace.
