Idea for future MM search/stress test improvement

When game developers test games and networking they often do that privately and no one really knows about it, but what if there was a way to allow testing for MM search with any one who wanted to participate through the Xbox One?

My idea is something like a ‘Vertical Slice’ of the game but instead of including a whole portion of the game like a Beta may do, instead it would only include the MM searching portion. The vertical slice of this would include countdown timer, searching of players, loading player info, and all the way up to starting the game. This would basically re-run over and over again for intervals at a time.

MM searching doesn’t use much data and I doubt it is very CPU/GPU intensive so it could run in the background and when the Xbox One is off.

Any game developer studio could create a vertical slice like this and release it as an Application in the Xbox store. It seems very plausible and would be an effective and much cheaper ‘stress-test’ for games pre-launch and could help reduce launch issues, at least on the networking side.

I am no Networking guru so I could be very wrong, but is this plausible to any of you guys?

The idea sounds great, but most people wouldn’t go for downloading an application to stress testing servers when they can’t immediately get anything out of it, no matter how helpful it is to the release of the game. In most cases internal testing will do the job, but unfortunately with TMCC the netcode problems weren’t foreseen. However if you played the Halo 5 Beta you’d know that matchmaking works fine, so not much more testing is needed on it.
