idea for a new req

since the first time I watched halo legends one thing shown in it has always been bugging me. the prototype mechsuit (referred to as the YGGDRASIL Mark I Prototype Armor Defense System on the halo wiki HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL Mark I Prototype Armor Defense System | Halo Alpha | Fandom) that is shown and is focused on in one of the (in my opinion) best shorts from halo legends has been neglected, I mean we get to see a MARINE pilot a massive heavily armored and extremely well armed mechsuit with astounding agility for the size of it and I understand its a prototype and all the data on it was “destroyed” but I mean this was ultimately ONI property and data we are talking about I very highly doubt that there wasn’t a backup of the data in ONI’s possession in case the event that lead to the suit and data’s destruction happened. I think it would be a good req but I can also see it being very over powered I just want this prototype to be more flushed out than it is.

Link to the exoskeleton on Halopedia for those who need a refresher.

I think something like this would be pointless at this stage. Yes it has a ton of destructive weapons and flight capabilities, but the Mantis basically fulfills the exact same role. I’m just not feeling the need for this thing. Otherwise, leave your thoughts on H6 wishlists 1, 2, and 3.

I have to agree with HaXoR73: at this point and time it is just not a viable weapon/suit. Mjolnir in general is just better, and the Mantis also packs a punch for a vehicle. In addition, the energy source on both of these is just canonically better. Both outclass the Yggdrasil by a wide margin imho. Lastly, the exoskeleton was made for marines, not Spartans, and was also incredibly expensive in comparison.

One thing I could see it used for is as a “boss” in WarZone. Think of the GruntMech, but with a Marine inside!

the cyclops also fills this role to an extant as well

I see what you guys are saying but the major thing this the Yggdrasil has that gives it the a sense of viability is it mobility where the spartans are very mobile they lack the sheer force and fire power of the mantis. where the mantis has amazing force and fire power it is barely faster then a scorpion and its legs are a major weak point seeing as how top heavy it is, if someone were to get in a strong enough hit on the legs it would take the mantis out of combat at least temporarily but the Yggdrasil has mobility that can match and in a few select cases out match that of a spartan and has more firepower than a mantis. the price though as MajorCurryBread stated would be its biggest down fall that just the price of manufacturing the suit itself not even factoring in the cost of ammo, repairs, and the time it would take to properly train a user. the power source is a minor problem but as mentioned the mantis and mjolnir have better power sources so adapting a mantis’s power source or maybe a couple mjolnir power sources could very easily fix that problem. though there is another glaring problem with the Yggdrasil the construction and safe transportation of the suit its parts and its ammo being what it is the Yggdrasil has noticeably less armor than a mantis and could be damaged in transit if something happens such as a ship being attacked or a malfunction with ship systems, so all in all put the Yggdrasil into production would be a large gamble on the one hand its a major power card on the other hand its VERY expensive and potentially dangerous if turned against humanity or its allies.

edit:I was debating whether or not i should talk about the cyclops seeing as it is a later variant of the Yggdrasil suit specifically its referred to as the Hrunting mark III which brings up more questions like what was the mark 2 and more specifically why is the one time we see it in universe only in halo 4 and why is it ON DISPLAY on the CAA Heavy Burden

A new level 9 REQ should be the Halo 2 Scarab gun.

I miss the sticky detonator. always fun to mess with. I just thought it was fun back in h4.

Honestly, I just think the suit is stupid and out of place.

I though of another vehicle variant idea. Something like a gungoose or mongoose with a speed boost. It would be able to destroy the walls (Destroyed by spartan charge) and can possibly do extra damage.

I mean the hrunting mk2, mk3, and mk9 have all been seen in the game the mk2 was in halo 4 the mk 3 is in halo wars 1 and 2 and the mk9 is in halo 4 and 5. not to mention the mk3 is even more out of place I mean they said that the original hrunting/yggdrasil left the pilot vulnerable but the mk3 LITERALLY has a glass cockpit because that’s an improvement

I think the Mantis was based on it, no?

Level 9 Req. How bout a scorpion tank designed by sangheilis with main cannon as scarab gun, second man cannon should act like a shade turret and the scorpion itself has energy shields. i wish to see this in H6

the mantis is the hrunting mk9
