Was it Microsoft pushing 343i to get it out too fast? Is it a matter of 343i being too lazy to do a solid QA test on this collection? I, as well as all my friends, really hope the appropriate people are being fired/terminated for this.
I’ll share a funny experience I had yesterday. In one of the three games I actually was able to play, the game started a 6v3 in h2a. My two friends were on the other team, even though we searched together. What? So my girlfriend saw this and laughed, asking why it was so unbalanced. I shrugged it off and continued, however as soon as the game launched, every player dropped with the exception of one of my teammates. We stood still and looked around the map, as in a wtf is happening style, before just throwing all of our nades into the sky. After my teammate quit, I decided I had enough of running around a ghosted map, and quit myself. What then proceeded provided some nice lulz. The scoreboard read ‘You finished 1th’ Lol! That was one of three games I got to play all day, on day 3 of launch for one of, if not the, biggest title of the year.
This game is broken. It will take months to fix, and honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if h5 hits before this is 100%. To all of those making excuses for this travesty, just stop. Seriously, stop. You’re telling developers its ok to not polish and fix their games. To those bashing 343i, keep it up, because this is honestly the worst launch I have seen in my 15 years of gaming. 343i is officially on my craplist.
Uses -Yoink!- in place of MSFT or Microsoft, check.
Blames lazy devs, thus exposing complete lack of understanding of how games are made, check.
Nobody is making excuses, not even 343, they’ve acknowledged thing aren’t working as intended. Does stuff happen with major game/software launches? Yes. Should we accept it? No, of course not, we paid for the product and we expect it to work. However, when products I buy don’t work, I either return them, or wait until they’re working again and get on my merry way. I contact customer service to try and resolve the issue, and if I can’t resolve it I ask for a refund. You know, things that are actually productive. I don’t however go onto a forum that is already littered with people saying literally the exact same thing, in exactly the same way, and proceed to say the exact same stuff, exactly as it’s already been said 1000 times before.
Johnny, first of all, I’m not blaming anyone. Hence the title name - I’d like to know what happened.
Secondly, let me summarize this for you: -Yoink!- = cash grab pushing an unfinished product. Makes me think this was there ‘system saver’ attempt. Lazy devs = I’ve never, in any game, seen such a simple error on a scoreboard such as ‘1th’. This is seriously like an indie game made by a developer that makes side titles in his free time.
Lastly, we have every right to be pissed at this ridiculousness, just like you have every right to respond to mine. Difference is, you don’t want it to change, you just fit into the system. The true Halo fans are the ones complaining, making their voices heard. Halo deserves better, we deserve better, and if cleaning house at 343i and MSFT is what it takes, than so be it.

Changed -Yoink!- to Microsoft to appease to those that can’t see the real issue. You guys are perfect customers, keep throwing your money at Microsoft, they love it.

Pretty much.
Why anyone would defend such crappy business practices is just baffling. Place the blame on Microsoft or 343, it doesn’t really matter, we paid 60 bucks to play-test a game that seriously lacks polish or any sort of quality control.

It’s obvious this was rushed in an attempt to sell Xbox ones this holiday season. Next holiday season will be h5. Microsoft had to do something before then. I love Xbox, and I love Halo, which is why this chit annoys the hell out of me.

Saying these were far worse than this is just simply not true. Nice attempt though. Also, Battlefield has always been broken and is made by EA. Doesn’t count. Halo, however, has always been cream of the crop.

I do not play MP…at all. From my perspective the game is EXACTLY what I paid for…but I acknowledge the issues.
Now…let’s put things into perspective.
Bethesda launched skyrim after FIVE YEARS of working on it. It was not a port. It was made specifically for each system it launched on.YET on 360 There was a pretty evident texture res bug AND on ps3 a HUGE GAME BREAKING save file bug that could bring your console to its knees.
Moral of the story…sometimes unforeseen issues happen that slipped past QA…
At least 343i are not flat out lying like Bioware did

From Ultima 9’s Wiki ‘The game’s release was initially complicated by a rather buggy first issue, with very advanced hardware requirements for the time; the design team had objected strongly to the timing of release, but the Electronic Arts management enforced it.’
Oh look, EA. How surprising. Halo is held to a much higher standard my friend.

While this is true, it’s not as if the Elder Scrolls games were previously near perfection. If you downgrade in quality, you’re going to piss of a lot of loyal fans that spend money on your products, rightfully so.

Haha battlefield doesn’t count? Ok pal. There have been numerous big titles with worse launches than this. It is practically an industry standard that every big title gets f’d up at launch. There are exceptions but it is practically guaranteed.
