For the past 3 days, I haven’t won a single match. People leave, quit, or teams are assigned unfairly. In Arena, my team was comprised only of unranked players (including me) but we were going up against 1 unranked, 2 Diamond, and 1 CHAMPION. What’s going on?!? I can’t even be put on a winning Warzone team anymore. Something needs to be done about Matchmaking. New players should go against new players, casual against casual, and pros against pros. New players vs Pros isn’t a good first impression on players (my friend tried Matchmaking, never wants to play again after 8 horrible defeats in a row). I’m not saying that I don’t suck, because I’m not that good, but matches should still be fair. My win percentages are horrible as well: Warzone (~40%), Arena (~30-40%).
What are you complaining about your K/D is great. You are way too hard on yourself. Anything close to 1.0 and above indicates you can at least hold your own. Not everyone is MLG level. Your K/D is better than mine and I know I can hold my own. My Arena K/D is .9 and i will get it above 1.0 soon. You are solidly over 1.0. You can absolutely hold your own.
I agree with you about the quitters. They should be banned harshly and publicly ridiculed. I have no issue with running into a team of elite level players and getting thumped. It happens and I appreciate that level of play and try to learn from it. But when these foolish kids with their COD mentality leave at the first sign of possible defeat it is the nail in the coffin against a good team.
It can be rough at times for sure. Especially your first 10 placement games. Those are always very rough. Once you get your official rank it should be a lot better. Hopefully you get a W soon. It can be a bummer for sure when you go on a losing streak like that.

The reason I’m so hard on myself is because all of my friends and classmates see me as the Halo king in the area, so if I don’t do amazing every time, I feel like a loser. Thanks for the encouragement though.

Public ridicule. Temporarily change their emblem to like, big letters QUITTER. In all honesty it could deter people haha.
Off topic, but I always thought a good way to deal with quitters would be to make whoever quits more likely to be placed into on-going games. They aren’t gonna like it and just stop playing and we can be rid of them, and if they do decide to contribute they can help out the team that may not have been doing so well otherwise.
What i find that works for me when im on tilt is to start complimenting the players who are killing me. It makes me feel happier? And in turn i start to perform better. Also remaining calm and thinking about playing helps a ton with my skill.
Even when I suspect my team will get beat bad, I still have two goals. do my best to at least have a 1.0 KD and to still be the best on my team. If I’m 1 or 2 on my team, I can still say , well I did my job. they didn’t do theirs. I can’t carry a team, but most of the time I can hold my own. If my team hold their own, I do even better.

Haha, yeah it’s the same with me. I’m better than every one of my friends, and I used to get a little steamed when I went on a losing streak online with them watching. But, after finally realizing Halo is just a game and it’s impossible for me to be on my ‘A’ game every moment of every game, I relaxed and consequently I’m having more fun than ever before (even when losing, which happens a lot to me in H5 lol).
In the end, you just have to recognize that while you may be top dog in your neck of the woods, there will always be players infinitely better at the game than you are, that you will inevitably encounter, and whom will not hesitate to demonstrate to you their mastery of said game. You shouldn’t feel like a failure, though. Just shrug, take a breath, and move on to the next game.
But even the official rank doesn’t help. Before the reset I was silver 4. 10 horrible qual matches with either one or two quitters or AFK’ers per match and I ranked SURPRISE, bronze 1. So now I’m stuck grinding against players that act like they don’t even know which end of thplayere gun bullets come out of, quitters, and AFK’ers galore. I’m not the best player myself, but now arena is almost totally unplayable due to the crappy ranks. CSR should be weighted towards a mix of K/D AND win/loss, to prevent this kind of thing from happening.

I lose matches every single time I go on, but idc, as long as I play really good, I’m not that bothered. you can lose games but get a whole lot of req points tbh, it depends on how you play
My issue is with warzone; my friends and I often will go on something like a 5-10 losing streak before we seem to be allowed to win a match or two. I think our win loss is going to settle in at around the 30% mark here soon (feels like 20% though).
We still do pretty well personally, but its just frustrating to have most your team so oblivious to like everything that it feels like there are only 2-3 players on your team.

Don’t worry about what other people think about you. I promise you your life will be happier for it. You are a solid player. Be proud of that. I understand where you are coming from though. I am hard on myself too. My reasons are kind of the opposite. I am getting old. I am 35 going on 36 and my reflexes are not what they used to be. Trying to compete with some of these kids who have come out of the womb with a controller in their hands can be a challenge. My twitch reflexes were much better 10 years ago. I am competitive as heck and so that is why I decided to really re-dedicate myself to Arena and have made good strides. That is enough for me. Plus at the end of the day it is about having fun!
Peace to you my friend
I’m surprised so many people replied to this thread, and all of you guys poured a friggin’ tsunami wave of encouragement on me! Thanks for cheering me up, all of ya!
Your doing fine mate. I’m not doing great but its Halo take the good with bad, I get frustrated at my team too and as I have a 5 month old daughter and work all the time plus getting close to 30 years old probably starting to slow me down and don’t have the time to play as much as I’d like or go in with teammates/friends but I still love it as I think its so much fun and that’s the main thing stop being so harsh on yourself and just have fun and kick ads to hell with bad teams its out of your control
