ICYMI- 343 devs are back from Thanksgiving weekend break and improving progression is their top priority

Lots of fans told them a challenge based progression system was a bad idea months prior to MP launch. And that going back to the SR152 or similar ranking system would be better. They did not listen.

It just occurred to me as I saw this thread at the top again due to replies. Expectations should be tempered because at no point did the dev in question say ‘ahead of launch’. So don’t be disappointed if we see no changes this week. I don’t think we’ll see a ‘fix’ for progression for a little while yet, perhaps another more informed band aid solution.

Indeed. A proper fix will take months.

I also wouldn’t want them to rush out a fix, I think the majority of the community would be more than happy with a period of informed and communicated progress with a testing period or two.

True, he never said it would be fixed before launch, so I adjusted the title. I think we will get another band-aid before launch at the very least, probably an increase in the amount of XP per daily and weekly challenge or some kind of match score to XP conversion system or XP for in-game medals, and possibly lower store pricing and/or in-game credit earning as well. Other changes will take longer, like a career progression system with it’s own rewards, unlocked armor pieces and colors working on more/all armor cores, and more cosmetics in the free and paid battlepass tracks (probably will have to wait on season 2 battlepass for that).

We got the bandaid announcement! We’re getting a first 6 games amount of XP.

That’s cool and all but there’s still game breaking bugs they need to fix. I adore all the ‘community uprising’ about progression but after can we please focus on the game itself. The bug with stockpile is still in the game and AKFers are increasing to farm XP.

Agreed, and I’m hoping we see some news on the other matters that are important to the community, not just those who are shouting the loudest about XP.

The idea of a dev playing there own game is so they can understand the feedback better like what bungie used to do it’s a great sign indeed, keep up the good work 343i :+1:
