Iam a little worried about Wars 2...

Theres a few things:

They have said it’s a 13 mission campaign. Now I am guessing one of those is the tutorial and each seems to be about 30 minutes from the two I have seen. So, we re talking a very short campaign of about 6 hours.

UNSC only campaign.

Only two playable factions.

Judging by the season pass contents, it specifically says new leaders and campaign missions. Not new factions and campaign expansions.

They’ve got no reason to lie or be misleading about this, plus the price of the season pass is relatively low compared to other games and implies the DLC wont address the above issues. Just minor things like commanders, units and a few extra missions.

So it is looking like the game will be very light on content and won’t address the key problems I had with the first game.

Yup. When they announced a first one I thought for sure, no doubt they would add at least one other faction. And Judging by the reviews of people who got to play a mission of campaign recently, it was very generic and uninteresting.

Great now you got me all worried about it I really hope they knock it out of the park with the campaign which is what I am most excited for

Well, you can’t judge a whole campaign based on one single mission. Halo 5 had one or two good missions, but the overall campaign was a steaming pile of poop. Halo 1 had The Library, but was a fantastic campaign.

I’m going to wait to play the campaign before making any judgements on it.

Your right they probably played the only bad mission in the hole game (sarcasm). And yes that’s why I was referring to that mission and not the game as whole, nor was I judging the campaign personally just stating what people thought of one of the missions. But for the record I’m not ganna get my hopes up.

Oh don’t get me wrong. I’ve bought the game and reckon it will be a lot of fun.

I mean they must know that a main complaint about HW was no third faction and additional campaigns. Surely if you’re looking to market the game, you wouldn’t lie about not having those things? You want hype.

Let’s say they do plan to add Prometheans/Flood as a third faction. Their inclusion would maybe be a spoiler but that would be mitigated by the marketing buzz a third faction would get. I mean there’s a reason why it’s been a very common question at panels and interviews. So why shoot yourself in the foot and risk losing interest at launch. I mean a third faction is a retry tangible new feature to add.

6 hour campaign… see this is what anoys me, if ppl say its 6 hours so short then stop -Yoink!- playing it on EASY or NORMAL Play it on HARD for Fsake…

i play every single game i get on HARD and its the best way to learn the game and the best way to get the most for your time/Enjoyment/moneys worth.

i hate seeing reviews on nearly every game Oh Completed in 4 hours … yeah stop -Yoink!- playing games on easy then

No need to get so defensive, I’m just saying that one mission doesn’t necessarily represent the whole game. Maybe the whole game will be generic and uninteresting, or maybe it will be just that one mission. Maybe many of us will find that one missions excellent and interesting rather than generic and uninteresting. We don’t know yet, it’s really hard to make any judgements based off of an early mission without any insight on the story.

I never said you were judging or referring to the game as a whole, I was just making a comment. It’s smart of you to not get your hopes up, since 343i has disappointed us more than they have made us happy. I surely am not keeping my hopes up, and this will likely be the last Halo game that I ever purchase as well.

Because older titles took longer to complete on the lower difficulties. Because there was more content in the game. You couldn’t complete Red Alert 2 in six hours even on easy; for example.

Longer isn’t always better. There’s a bunch of those old RTS games where every mission took like 40min-1hr and they weren’t necessarily all that different. You’d have 1 mission where you escorted something through a canyon. Then next mission build up forces and wipe out a base. Next mission defend the same area… Sure, it was a 15hr campaign on normal difficulty but half the missions were pretty boring and were barely any different from skirmish against AI. Not saying that’s how EVERY RTS came was but there were plenty like that.

If this is a 6-8hr campaign with good cut scenes and interesting story and challenging missions then I’ll be more or less happy with it.

The Library is a great mission, ya’ bigot.

Well my main worry is more over the factions and number of campaigns rather than campaign length.

I mean Starcraft 2 has a relatively short campaign but it’s still eight hours and then obviously they added additional ones via expansion for each race. Company of Heroes 2 is another example of a long campaign where they made serious commitments to add new factions and campaign material.

Hey I liked The Library !

You know, I actually always enjoy The Library. But it’s commonly regarded as a horrible level, so I used it as an example.

Play on Legendary, problem solved.

But I do agree, not having a third faction is a big letdown.

Well it’s weird because I just rewatched the San Diego Comic Con QnA and they do specifically say that they have all the factions mapped out in response to a question about Prometheans. They also have a similar tongue in cheek response regarding the flood.

But, surely you would advertise that on your season pass? “Buy this and get new factions” ala Battlefield 1.

Or if it was part of the game launch then we would have heard something by now?

The only thing I can possibly think of is that the core factions will be “free LC” updates and not part of the season pass. That’s wishful thinking obviously but still.

Well halo has always been secretive about factions until they release them. No one had any clue about the flood until release day of halo 1. No one thought halo 4 would have a new faction until the first trailer showing a new faction.

Also really you compare battlefield 1 it’s a historical game were everyone knows the factions involved and they announced France would be included at later date. So yeah there going to put that in the pass. When they announce more about it then they will update the pass.

This is science fiction were no one knows the story there not going to be like new faction comes out with the second campaign to spoil all that there is really only 2 other main factions. So everyone would either know Cortana comes back to the ark or the flood returns yay spoilers.

But on a side note if a totally new faction is out of the realm of possibilities I hope they would have side factions like the innies and swords of sanghelios.

Yeah I think that having a covenant campaign would be nice. Also my issue is the DLC…I really feel like flood and promethian factions should be in it. Maybe even some the swords of sanghelios that could have jackals in it with maps on sanghelios. The game is not coming out as bad as I thought but it just doesn’t seem like that much of an improvment from HW1. I kinda like blitz but even I think it will soon be ruined by kids with countless hours to get cards or people buying the microtransactions.

From what I’ve heard, some didn’t like the second mission (which was the one they were allowed to play) because it plays like an RTS campaign. They wanted something new. SMH the halo community complains to not fix anything that isn’t broken, but when they do, other people complain that it’s nothing new. However, one of the main articles I read had nothing but positive things to say. I wouldn’t lose hope. As someone who first played Halo Wars last month with the definitive edition (which has been my first and only RTS so far), I will not feel that the campaign doesn’t do anything special because I haven’t experienced all this before. I’m not sure if any other RTS has done this before, but in the very short first mission, there is a brief section (and I mean very brief) near the end where Red Team must escape in a warthog. You have to watch out for Banished forces while also clearing a path in front of you. It’s like the RTS version of the warthog run. I guess that could be considered something new.

If they didn’t have a season pass I could get keeping secrets. Company of Heroes 2 didn’t tell people they would add more faction until they brought out Western Front armies.

If your season pass is like Battlefront and just maps then no description makes sense. But if it’s something MAJOR like additional factions then I really would expect that to be stated outright.
