It’s the one certainty in life; it’s going to end sometime. There’s a few things they can do to mitigate this issue as long as possible, namely:

  1. Prerecord a ton of voice lines, and mix and match where necessary in the future
  2. Allow a voice over AI to recompile his voice from previous lines, and get the AI to say the lines

Those AI’s are getting better, so who knows? Also, the last option would be pretty ironic given the conflict with the Created.

Anyway, we’ll see what happens. Another option could be to have Chief have his farewell in whichever shape (retirement/death), and have a new protagonist (or more) step forward to fill the void. Time will tell.

Let’s hope we still have a very long time before that happens!!

I don’t think the 10 year cycle means the initial campaign is the only Chief we’ll get for a decade. I’m fully expecting some campaign DLCs throughout Infinite’s life cycle.

Personally i hope H6 will be the last Halo with Master Chief as the protagonist. It ll become stale otherwise, whether we like it or not.

I think it’s a bit morbid talking about what’s going to happen to a character after his actor dies. I say we let Mr Downes, his family, 343 handle that…

Although to immediately be a hypocrite, Halo desperately needs a story that works something like the movie Logan.

If Steve doesn’t last thag long, of which I hope isn’t the case, then Master Chief should honestly die with him. I understand Chief is the mascot of xbox but it would feel wrong to have someone else voice chief. We will need someone new to take the place of Halo’s ‘face’ so to say.
