I -Yoinking!- love this game

It’s been now more than 1entire year that i only play this game with MCC (I came back in halo after being a big fan of the franchise) and honestly I have the feeling that until infinite drops I’ll never have the need of another game it’s just to good so much content so much pleasure I love you 343 for making this masterpiece my favorite game of my young adult life.

That’s good if you enjoy Halo 5 but I found one of the worst Halo games imo, but MCC I can thank 343 for bringing Halo 2 on the X1, the game that brought me into Halo in 2004, while it did launch buggy it’s good they’re fixing it

But your bio saying Halo 5>Halo 3, that is beyond false

For me considering that halo 3 is a good halo is beyond false everyone have their own opinions lol

I haven’t had another franchise get me as excited as Halo has all these years. I’ve dabbled in a few others but always end up back at Halo. Oh and Halo 3 is better than Halo 5 imo, but hey that’s why it’s called an opinion! Enjoy whatever game makes you happy OP

Halo 5 wasn’t a bad game. It might not be one of my favorites, but I’ve had a lot fun times playing it. A lot of the fun was definitely in Warzone and Warzone Firefight for me. The Campaign was alright, and the free content 343i released was really cool of them.

Not gonna lie; the day Halo’s trilogy ends is gonna be a sad day for me…probably gonna be a sad few years actually. I have never loved a game series more than I have Halo; it just has such a charm to it.

When I first played Halo 3 (my step brother introduced me to it first) I had no idea who the green giant in armor was that I was following around. Just thought him another nameless protagonist until I realized that all the times people were saying ‘Master Chief’ it was the guy who was player one (I was Arbiter, a character I hadn’t even realized was much more than just ‘player 2’). Still didn’t much care because I knew literally NOTHING about the Chief; he was just a jumped up Space Marine in typical military color grade armor to me at that point.

Then we went back after I had some interest in the series and played through the first and second game. The Master Chief quickly became a character I fell in love with. Loved everything about him from his stoic personality to his sense of humor when interacting with Cortana. He just felt like a relate-able character once you knew more about him. We went on to get every Halo game that came out after 3 and my heart absolutely shattered when Cortana died in 4.

I was a Playstation gamer before Halo; it completely converted me. Halo is the only game to date that I can and will go back to often and crank up the difficulty to have hours and hours of fun.

Personally I loved this game and will for a while. But H2 will always be my favourite. The complexity that you can get in both games if given the time, is beyond that of others. That’s what made these games for me.

Personally, I order the Halo games as H2>H5>H3>H1>H4 but that’s my opinion

Always nice to see some positivity on these forums. Not a perfect game but I’ve been having fun with it too. Looking forward to the possibility of a BTB refresh :crossed_fingers:

Yeah but most of it was content that should have been in the base game to begin with. I’m hesitant to give them credit for giving us “free content” when they were really just finishing an unfinished game in the months following its release.

I love H5 too despite it having some serious problems.

Story, obviously average, deceiving and disappointing.

But the main thing that drives me absolutely mad is the fact I have to turn off the game every time I finish a custom game with an audience because it freezes and crashes 80% of the time. 343 are you gonna do anything about this or are you gonna wait 3 years before making a patch?

Sorry, but someone should be able to like Halo 5 more than Halo 3, and that is NOT a false opinion.

The internet needs more people like you. You give you’re opinion, but you’re not bashing someone else’s.

Agreed I haven’t purchased a game in 3 years for the xbox. I did play Zelda BoTW for a portion of last year. Its a great Halo game I just want an objective only playlist, core play is good but slayer is throw in it.

Older gamer here who completely missed out on Halo until until recently. Back in the day I was a PC gamer until the 360. Then I generally played Gears of war while others were into halo 3. I had tried Halo a few time and thought it wasn’t for me. I did play some Halo wars RTS and really enjoyed it but didn’t get into the story. Fast forward to the release of Halo Wars 2 and I was sucked in to the multiplayer AND the campaign. That’s when I got hooked on the story. I ended up going onyx in 2v2 for HW2 and completing every achievement which was campaign heavy. After completing every achievement and realizing I loved the story, I dove into the Halo 5 campaign. Seems that it gets a bit of a bad rap but in my opinion I thought it was great. For me it answered the question I always had from the start of the HW2 campaign, "Why does AI only get to live for so long and why would they self terminate? ", as Serena does. Well in Halo 5 you get to explore rampancy and issues with the moral compass of someone who is immortal. I ended up getting every achievement for Halo 5.

With that I then decided to roll through all of the campaigns in MCC to start working on those achievements. The best bar far in MCC for me was Halo CE. The simplicity of the game and the story were just so well done. I think the anniversary addition with updated graphics and cut scenes definitely helps, I have no nostalgic tie to the original. To be honest, going through and playing for time feels completely different then going through and playing for score. I love the replay factor here and that going for achievements forces you to play the same campaign many ways with different difficulty settings and different skulls. At this point I have about 300 of the 600 achievements for MCC. Some of the LASO stuff I am not looking forward too. I will also say doing time runs in Halo two are pretty annoying on certain levels where you have to ride elevators and slow moving ships or wait for certain things to happen. However the remastered cut scenes are completely worth it.

With that I would say my personal preference is H5 > HCE > (H2 = H3 = H4). My personal opinion of course and would think that which ever one you started with is probably going to be your favorite.

Either way I am a huge halo fan now and am looking forward to the next game. I like the original Bungie stuff and like how 343 has carried it forward. I am not aware of another franchise that has so many great games.

I can’t use the word love when it comes to Halo 5. Sure I like it, I have liked very Halo game. For me to say love Halo 5 they would have to make way better arena maps, most are to small and cluttered. They made Spartans faster and more mobile but maps smaller? That makes no sense to me. Get the tuning of the H5BR right. It’s never felt good to me. Kinda sad that the pistol is the more viable weapon in arena in most cases. Retune Spartan charge or get rid of it. Mostly you shouldn’t be able to charge while being shot. Biggest crutch in Halo since armor lock. As far as warzone which I like the concept why is the AI so dumb? Teams can totally ignored the AI if they want to. They will just stand there in one area and never leave it, they should seek out Spartans and even be able to capture bases and armories. Also why is their spawns so predictable? Should be way more random.

The one thing I do love about H5 is the weapon balance. Every weapon does fill a niche, sure some cross over but with so many weapons that is hard to avoid. Sure the pistol is the main utility weapon but you can be successful with others using the right tactics. It’s the first time in multiplayer where the AR is actually useful. I don’t care how noob some consider it but I like my Halo as a multi gun game and not a one gun game. There is more skill in Halo than just ability with precision weapon.

Dr. Fate may have been just making a joke about Halo 3 being the most popular game in the series, i don’t think he meant it in a bad or disrespectful way.

343 is the death of halo , such a -Yoink- company. but like all great things they must come to a end ,but tis sad.

I kinda was joking about it, but I would like to apologies to the Op for sounding a bit rude or disrespectful, had no intent to sound like that

And I do respect his opinion

I’m also loving this game! 35 yrs old and just bought the first console of my life (forbidden growing up, PC gamer until I realized I could save 1000$ dollars by getting an Xbox One X instead of building an equivalent PC).
Started with Game Pass, but just bought the game and cancelled Game Pass because I never played any other games and just ended up spamming slayer all the time.
The only other Halo game I have played was a bit of Halo 2 back in college with roommates and cousins.

I love Halo 5 as well. The 4v4 matchmaking is my favorite of all Halo games.

I simply love every single one. H1 still my favorite (:
