I yoinking hope this is cut from Halo 4...

Assassination yoinks! People who yoinked really made it hard and frustrating to enjoy a cool new feature in Halo Reach. It was the one thing that really annoyed me. Not armour lock. Not bloom. Not jet pack. YOINKS!

I don’t agree with people who argue: “Oh, you shouldn’t be show boating” or “You’re wasting time and making yourself vulnerable” or “A kill is a kill.” I think those are just lame excuses for people to be malicious and ruin someone’s fun.

If your team mate is truly assassinating at an inappropriate time, then let the enemy team kill him and get the show stopper. They’ll eventually learn.

I hope Yoinking is removed in Halo 4 so people can enjoy a cool feature of the game.

EDIT:

I think this suggestion from The Omeggos is the best solution:

> here’s a fair compromise:
>
> You get the kill still, they get an assist. No reason they actually deserve points for a free kill

Despite my initial argument, I think it would be better to implement this instead of removing yoinking all together. What do you think?

People who yoinked you? OH the medal… I think it should stay but be a bit harder to get

I don’t agree. Have I been -Yoinked-!? Yeah, but it’s still a kill for the team in things like Slayer. And even in things like Objective, hey the enemy is still dead. You take the risk to do one.

Sometimes you yoink, sometimes you get yoinked. It’s all in good fun.

I agree, yoinks are horrible. They create competition among a team, and that one kill can ruin them (as yoinks are often followed by friendly grenades). If yoinks are back, at least give the assassin a medal and some points.

I’m not interested enough to come a up with a medal name. You do it.

here’s a fair compromise:

You get the kill still, they get an assist. No reason they actually deserve points for a free kill

^this.
Assassinations are not meant to be done at every opportunity. The only skill involved with them is knowing when is the right time to perform them.

Well, you have to be more careful? You have to take in to account that if you want to assassinate there is a risk that there is someone who will yoink yo. I love to assassinate people. (Who doesn’t?) But I only do it when the time is right, like when I’m not under fire or when I am alone with this guy. The thing I hate more after Armour Lock is people who are desperate after assassinations. Who just assassinates in mid fight just because one of the enemies came up to them with their backs to you. It makes you a vulnerable target. But back to my point, you have to understand that with assassinations there will be yoinkers.

PS. There is one thing I love more than assassinations and that is yoinking lol

Meh, if someone does that to me I just get them to team-kill me so I can boot them. Yes, I am vindictive.

then you should try to play with better people.

Because they killed an enemy you hadn’t killed yet? And you get them to betray you over that stupid -Yoink-? The maturity of this community astounds me.

Not everyone plays for the purpose of competition by joining groups. A lot of people join games by themselves.

This is a good idea.

I hope they don’t cut it out, cause of people like you!

And here’s why, I love yoinking from people like you, I find simple enjoyment out of watching you guys freak out.

It depends on my mood mostly, but sometimes I love to yoink people and then run away from them laughing maniacally.

You know the risk involved with doing the longer assassination instead of a simple back smack. It’s a way of showing off or looking cool that isn’t necessary. If you just care about kills enough to complain when it’s “stolen” from you, don’t show off. For those who like to have more fun and want to show off, let that risk remain. Otherwise why wouldn’t someone do the longer animated one? It’s a reward to pull it off, thus the special medal for it.

Yoinks are fun. I’ve been yoinked by a teammate, i’ve yoinked a teammate. I don’t get mad, because I know if I go for the longer one I am putting myself in a vulnerable position, not only to the enemy, but also teammates wanting to get another kill or a laugh.

Regardless, if you are on a team, you shouldn’t care who gets the kill. In FFA I could understand your frustration, but it’s your choice to do the longer ones. You shouldn’t be invincible or have the kill already, if you haven’t finished the job.

Ultimately, someone freaking out about a kill being “stolen”, doesn’t know how a TEAM game is played, and are taking the game WAY too seriously.

> I don’t agree. Have I been -Yoinked-!? Yeah, but it’s still a kill for the team in things like Slayer. And even in things like Objective, hey the enemy is still dead. You take the risk to do one.

If that was just the case it would be fine. I could care less about who gets the kill. But what usually happens is I end up dieing because my teammate was more interested in stealing my kill than killing the teammate of the person I’m assassinating. If my teammate was more worried about the team they would be watching my back instead of trying to steal the kill while probably shooting me some in the process.

This is why I wish there was an option to turn assassinations off.

trolling at it’s finest is what I just read

What I hope for is that when you assassinate someone and a team mate steals the kill, you still get the points for the kill and the assassination.

Arguing about being yoinked is like saying ‘OMG but I took down his shields and someone else got a cheap headshot and stole my kill. BAN THEM ALL AND MAKE KILL STEALING IMPOSSIBRU OMGWTFBBQ’.

It’s a legitimate kill and as posted above, you take the risk by choosing to do an animated assassination rather than just a quick assassination beatdown.
