I don’t understand that, out of all the characters in the Halo universe we get stuck with Locke who (from what I’ve seen so far) is boring and lifeless where as we have Buck, who is a more interesting character, as a support character. I don’t know about you, but I would like to play as Buck rather than Locke.
In terms of the direction of the story, I don’t think it would’ve have worked if it was Buck leading a team to hunt the Chief, it just seems out of character. If you play ODST you can see that he questions orders where as Locke is brand new character to the Universe and so they can shape his character to the story. We still don’t know an awful lot about Locke so as the story unfolds he might become more likable (but tbh i like the way we have this straight down the line, not everyone’s going to like him kind of character. He’s after Chief and so we automatically have some dislike towards him). Also leaving him a little blank character wise is similar to what they did with Chief in Halo: CE. Also play Coop, then you can select Buck 
Also having Buck as support means we will get some good radio chatter during the game.

ohhhh plot twist! that sounds pretty cool. But Reach did that already. fun as hell too. Idk Locke seems ok. I can’t wait for the stand off between the chief and locke… you know its coming!
Honestly im starting to wish they never even put buck on team osiris. All this dislike towards locke when we haven’t even got to play as him and fully experience his story yet is something I find irritating.

Yes I watched nightfall and I found that they didn’t do a good job at all with it and with him. I’ll form my opinion on someone after I play as him or her in the game.

Personally, I think the Nathan Fillion circle-jerk on Waypoint is a bit over the top. Locke fits very well in the role of a hunter.

this is not a Whedon movie…no one needs to die. It does not make the plot any cooler if you force kill the main characters because it’s #cooldarkandedgy
