I would LOVE for Halo 4 to get as much marketing as Halo 3 did. If not more.

Would anyone else agree??? Wouldn’t you just love like one day be driving to the gas station to be greeted by seeing a big ad for a Halo 4 slushee thinking to yourself, “Yep, I got that game paid off.” Or have GameFuel Halo 4 style once more? Or perhaps seeing a Halo 4 trailer in the previews when you see your favorite movie? Who else is with me?? I want the Halo 4 advertising campaign to be as big as the Halo 3 and Black Ops marketing campaign. I really liked how they did Halo 3’s but make it even bigger.

I hardly saw any black ops advertising outside gaming media outlets.

I disagree. Halo 3 got so much marketing because it was the last of a trilogy. I think Halo 4 should get some decent marketing and PR but not to the extent that Halo 3 did. Maybe Halo 6 could  that would be epic.

I agree with OP. When Halo 3 was nearing release, EVERYTHING was advertising it. Theaters, Burger King, billboards, gas stations, Doritos, McDonald’s, pretty much every channel on TV, Gamefuel, you name it.

It was amazing. Halo was the king of console shooters, and everybody knew it thanks to the HUGE advertising campaign that Halo 3 had going for it. I don’t think any game in the history of games has ever been hyped so heavily, and Halo 3 lived up to that hype. Look at its sales, too. Had it not been hyped so heavily, millions less would have purchased it.

Halo 4 needs a huge marketing campaign. Halo needs to be king again.

I agree with everything in this post. The only way to let people know about a new product is to advertise it.

It was said that the Reach advertising campaign was just as big as Halo 3’s and yet, all I saw were a few products here and there, quite a few ads on TV, one ad in the theater and an ad occasionally on sites I would visit. That may be a bit, but it wasn’t enough to make it feel like it was being advertised everywhere. I’d love if it had similar advertising to Halo 3, as while Halo 3 was finishing the fight, Halo 4 is continuing the story of chief after the 5 year long cliff hangar at the time of it’s release. I’d think a similar amount of hyping is in order.

I don’t doubt at all that Halo 4 will have same or more advertising than Halo 3. I mean, c’mon, it’s the next, actual, big release for the franchise! While it’s probable to have doubts, it would be silly for the next big installment to not have a huge marketing campaign.

I have an idea, lets make good marketing for a good halo game. Reach had alot and sure they were great, but in the end, the game let alot of people down. Myself included.

I just hope that H4 revives the Halo franchise. H:R was a failure IMO, and hardly anyone I know even plays anymore. Back when H3 came out, I had TONS of friends who played, and some of them were on virtually all day. I miss those days. The Halo community felt so alive.

Agreed. Halo 2 was another one that was highly anticipated, though I’m unsure about how much it was marketed. Halo 4’s a big deal ('Chief is back, new developer at the helm, fresh direction), and I hope the buzz surrounding the game is just as intense as both the sequel and the threequel. As people have said, however, let’s hope such a buzz is justifiable. I believe in you 343, I really do.

double post, eugh.

Halo 4 is the saving grace for the 1st party games for Micrsoft. They’ll hype the -Yoink- outta this.

I really want it to be advertised a crap load like it was with Halo 3. I miss those days. Especially when you see countless people at the midnight launches! I mean come on, Halo in NYC??? That was crazy!! It was like celebrating new years!

Good, good.

Hahaha YES!

No no no… you mean YEASSSSS!!! xD

Ah, I’m breaking straight into a bad habit tonight. xP

Haha it’s understandable. I’m just really hyper tonight because I can’t stop thinking about Halo Fest!!! Woot!

This so hard. Microsoft is one of the biggest companies in the world, and they have a lot of influence over a lot of stuff. If there’s one thing they can do for Halo, it’s this. And dedicated servers.

After all, the richest company in the world should be able to shell out some major money for their biggest exclusive game.

But Halo 4 us the start of a new trilogy. I think that deserves just as much attention if not more. Too bad about Halo 5 though, the middle child always gets the shaft.
