Slayer in the past games were one of my fave game modes but in halo 5 i find its not the case. Im a old school halo player and i always remember back in the day that if ya played slayer that things like pick ups or power weapons were ignored most of the time or they mainly pvp weapons like the sniper only nothing stupid. There was a none spoken rule in the community where people wouldn’t go out of their own way for the rocket laucher if there was one, it was simple pvp with the basic guns. I want a slayer mode where there are no power weapons or pick ups because in halo 5 everyone just rushes for the power weapons and tbh i partly blame it on the 343 side for even including a rocket laucher on a game mode thats uses small maps. Its like why did i just get shot by a rocket launcher in a close quarter map, fair enough if there was a scorpion or a warthog in play but nah. Im old school my habits of trying to get kills with just my assault rifle will never change. I would just love a slayer where i dont have to worry about the guy camping with active camo or the people who sprint to the rocket launcher or grenade launcher.
So basically, a Slayer mode that doesn’t have power weapons?

pretty much yeah and the power ups like overshield or active camo

I agree with you. Although, I’m fairly sure only casual players will agree with us. Power ups and power weapon setups and timing mean a lot to teams. I’m a solo queue players 99% of the time, so ‘setups’ and ‘teamwork’ usually hurt me more than it helps (:

I mean in halo 5 its not really too difficult to do well without them. I played a match and carried my team to victory without using any power weapon and generally do very good with just a assault rifle but i get what ya mean. The real serious players will do whatever it takes to win.

I think I’ve been part of a different community. As far as I remember, “if you take my rocket launcher, you’re dead” was closer to the reality.
Unspoken rule about not picking up power weapons I don’t think it was an unspoken rule, it seems more likely that no one knew the spawn points of the rockets. And no one ever learned that they were on the map because the people who did know about the weapons killed each other to have them.
Yeah, if people weren’t picking up power weapons it was because they didn’t know they were there.
That said, I agree 100% that “Loadout Weapon Slayer” would be a great addition to the line up. I’d be there day one.
Agreed.
I asked for a playlist like this a couple of months after launch but it didn’t seem to have much interest.
