I’m missing the Bubble Shield and Power Drain equipment from Halo 3. I understand that the Bubble Shield is difficult to balance, but I’d like to see these equipment experimented with in Halo Infinite in the future.
bubble shield I could see value in it being stronger than a dropwall but you cant shoot through it. tbf the power drain does basically what the dynamo grenade does
bubble shield, regenerator, gravity lift, trip mine, deployable cover and hologram should return as equipment. (halo 3 source equipement should only stack to 3, not 5, so it can keep its functionality while being balanced ).
maybe the jetpack could be reintroduced as a jump pack (static bursts) or with a very limited fuel tank. the hardlight shield from halo 4 could also return.
I really like the idea of adding more equipment. The Gravity Lift and Trip Mine would be very niche, but very fun.
The Drop Shield is pretty much a reworked Deployable Cover already. I think they just need to buff it a little bit.
The Regenerator is neat, but I’m not sure it would do as much in Infinite, because the pace of the game is generally faster. But still, I’d like to see them experiment with it.
Bringing some of the armor power type equipments from Reach and Halo 4 would be pretty cool. Hologram was fun. A fixed Jetpack/Jumppack could be really fun, albeit hard to balance. And I really did love the Hardlight Shield.
Honestly, the Grapple Hook is far and away my favorite equipment, and possible my favorite part of the game. I’m not sure if it serves as a replacement for the Jetpack, or if the two could exist as sort of compliments of each other. The Jetpack gives less movement, but more control and allows for firing while moving, whereas the grapple gives you higher mobility but less control and you can’t shoot while grappling.
the grapple is also faster, while the jetpack has slightly more range (for a direct grapple, not a swing or fling)
the deployable cover would not let through shots from the back side, but it would regenerate. the regeneratoor would work well with starving, as this gives tije for it to kick in.
Imagine the other team deploying a regenerator and then you grapple it away
I’ll take a bubble shield over a drop wall any day.
Looks better, sounds better and its a classic.
Drop wall sucks. Id rather pick up a grunt methane tank as equipment. Def could be more fun for when I get inevitably smacked in the back due to 18m radar and am sent flying off.
Bubbleshield replacing the current drop wall would be much welcome, not only for nostalgia but also especially seeing as how the radar sucks now and you’ve no idea if anyone is 5 ft behind you.
I feel like the repulsor kinda covers grav lifts and jump packs.
Something fun that could be similar to the grav lift would be a jump shockwave that sends nearby enemies flying straight up.
I think having both could fill different roles. The drop wall does need a buff tho
the repulsor is a user focused equipment with jumping as a secondary function.
the grav lift is team based and a longer lasting map modifier.
that makes it sufficiently different.
the jump/jetpack is user focused, but more specialised than the repuksor. it is closer to the grapple hook, but has weapon usability and a longer minimal flight distance (maximum direct grapple distance without swinging) while making you an easier target. its sufficiently different enough.
both would be fun in customs
Yes! LIke a certain YouTuber said recently, Infinite is lacking in Neutral equipment like the Bubble Shield and Trip Mines from Halo 3. There’s certainly a place for more stuff like that
