I would like to see a Forge World for Halo 4

I love this game and everything about it, except…except forge.

For the most part, Forge in Halo 4 is amazing, it’s the environments that kind of suck in my opinion. I love building with forge but in Halo 4 I have no desire to make anything. All the dedicated forge environments are to small and in my opinion are not designed to accommodate map making.

Forge World in Reach was amazing. It was specifically designed to make maps in. Bungie had created certain areas within Forge World for making maps on top of the random areas as well. Examples being the pocket above the colosseum, the pillar just outside to the left, etc. Non of this sort of stuff is in Halo 4’s forge.

I like the environment of Ravine a lot, but it’s too damn small and limited. Imagine if that giant forerunner structure thing wasn’t there. We could make some really cool maps using natural terrain.

This brings me to another thing. What happened to using beaches and water? You could do this in numerous areas in Forge World, not in 4. Impact is great but again, the empty rock is too small.

I really want to forge some maps again but every time I boot it up, my desire to make anything disappears when I see the environments.

Just my opinion.

p.s. If you’re going to respond, then stay on topic. I don’t want to see flaming or people ranting on about custom game options. This is about the forge environments.

Forgeworld was like a -Yoink- girl. She teased you with beautiful areas to look at. But we never got to touch those areas.

in halo 4 we have 3 girls. with proper size and none of them are prude.

The lack of a open forge world was a real let down. Hopefully fixed by a DLC if not then I guess Halo 5.

False.
Ravine is very prude, we cant forge up high, or down near the water.

Erosion is awesome, but Id like to forge a bit under the acid, for asthetic and mechanic purposes.

Impact is spot on though

I think H4’s forge is a step back. Some days ago, I tried to build something in Erosion, but the materials were so horrible… In Reach they were dull, but these are even worse.

It is and in my file share, there is even more forging area now. I discovered an out of bounds that fits it. It was found purely by me having fun with player trait zones, I hope they let us keep it… Be careful, some area’s it’s an instant death boundary… But it helps get you closer to the scene…

Yeah i hope it comes back sometime, Really loved that map

In case you haven’t noticed, that space level is huge

next time you get the chance, look how bare the haven pallet is, theres literally NO blocks in it

And mostly space. Meaning you have to waste valuable platforms just to get a decent building going.

I don’t want a forge world but I do want something like it just not as big.

I think another Forge World isn’t the way to go (because it strains resources unnecessarily when most maps use only a fraction of it), but I do agree these environments miss the mark.

I would love it if 343 patched in versions of Erosion without that permanent structure at the bottom of the hill, Impact without that permanent structure, and Ravine without the permanent Forerunner structure.

IMO, the environments really kill this Forge. They are very restrictive and limiting, and what we serious Forgers really need are canvases that are less restrictive, empowering, and more open.

And areas within the maps specifically designed to make maps in.

Compared to forge world, Its like an mouse compared to an elephant

Boundaries are a bit strict imo. Ravine is quite tight to get round and you can’t even go all the way down or that far out, Impact is good but again you can’t get round the (smaller) asteroid comfortably.

They had plenty of space on the second disc for more maps, larger forge world maps, but I’m betting the implementation of the new dynamic lighting system is too much for the 360 to handle on larger maps…

In my humble opinion the Dynamic Lighting was a waste. In Forgeworld it was OMG Where do I start. In H4 it’s more like “Is This It”?

I have 142 maps on Forgeworld. In H4 I have 3. You can only turn Buildings & Blocks so many ways to try and make something different. I agree. It’s a big letdown. Not to mention the ZOOM & Nudge are gone. Most of the pieces have indentations in them so when you run across them you jump. Like the piece is uneven.

Apparently it was an OVERSIGHT that Zoom & Nudge are missing. I saw this or heard it in an interview with Certain Affinity. The creators of H4 Forge.

Man, I was so excited when I saw the Duplicate & Magnet features. Only to be letdown when I went into Forge.

Is it just me or is the font to small on the menu. I find myself squinting when looking for pieces. CRAP I TELL YOU CRAP!!!
