I would like more interactive elements in maps.

It is probably too late for map changes but this is what I would like to see more in halo
interactive elements on maps
for those who don’t know what I mean, I am referring to stuff you can do to the map environment to help you take down an opponent (e.g activating the Dome shield on ascension, shooting Ice stalactites on lockout to drop on enemies, or the classic blow up explosives next to enemy). I really liked these a lot. They added more depth to the maps and what you could to. I hope they return in halo 5. Hell maybe even find a way to incorporate them in forge?

I hope fusion coils play a big part in MP again. Nothing like killing a sniper who sits at Camp Froman on Last Resort the whole game because it is surrounded by fusion coils, or killing an unsuspecting individual who is flanking through the Library on Lockout.

I don’t know if you read the gameinformer article about Fathom’s interactive elements. The block/barricade things scattered around the bottom of the map have a glowing red light that when shot, lowers the barricade which can vary the gameplay. If i recall this was also in Eden.

If they had stuff like the waterfalls in the remake of Sanctuary in MCC, then I’m sure they’ll add some more interactive elements to maps in H5.

OH and it’s not too late for map changes because the future will definitely have some DLC maps that are still WIP.

I love interactive elements, so I would have to agree with you!

Yep, interactive map elements are fun, but i rather they dont go crazy with it.

We have a lot of them actually.

Truth- Shields in the middle can be shot and destroyed.

Eden- Cover in the balcony area can be shot and move up and down. Also generators in the middle of the map can be shot which raises new clamber routes up to the catwalks.

Empire- Fuel tanks can be blown up.

Fathom- Middle ramps can be shot to lower them.

The Rig- Platform that can be shot to lower it and drop the active camo.

I agree so much with this!

Well one thing I can confirm is that there are breakable walls when you use the thruster pack on it. It was shown during “A Hero Reborn”.

Maybe light switches? Imagine that.

Maybe a button that assembles a power weapon (e.g. there’s a map in a weapons factory, and there’s a button that starts manufacturing a rocket launcher. The machine takes 30 seconds, so you have to be tactful about surviving until then)

Maybe a switch that temporarily open the map’s dome, exposing the map to a storm going on outside. Grenades suddenly start swerving around with the strong winds until the domes close a short time afterwards.

Maybe a button that plays a random Caboose quote, and then grunt bday party turns on.

I think they will.

Eh… I never cared too much for stage hazards, personally, but I certainly wouldn’t mind them in the social, noncompetitive playlists.

Or Warzone perhaps

You couldn’t do the light switches on an arena map. Affecting the visibility of opponents is a decidedly non-competitive aspect to the gameplay. People camping with snipers in areas of darkness would be quite lame and would piss off the competitive community.
