I would be excited but..

I live in Japan. I have a feeling the servers will be like reach and all previous online halos and the game will be literally unbearably unplayable for a competetive American in Japan.

Any word on how they are setting up the online servers in H4? Is it going to be host based like all the other halo’s so if someone far far away gets host, they get 1234857923 times the advantage? I’m hoping for some kind of dedicated servers or something

Honestly I now know why Halo isn’t that popular overseas… :’(

I know just about 95% of everyone on these fourms (made up stastic) are living in America though, so I don’t expect anyone to care (except overseas players) to much which ever way they do it

I live in England.

Lag has never been much of a problem for me in any game I play… guess I’m lucky. As for dedicated servers I’m 99% sure there isn’t any.

England is like 3000 miles from america… and I think japan is around 6000, so I would say any lag you get on american hosts, double it and that’s what i’m workin with here… very very hard to play competetivley

That sounds like a personal problem.

lol srry had to. but that sucks maybe halo 4 will erupt in japan!

Halo 4 is going to be p2p, this has been known for a long, long time now.

I live in Australia, DIFFERENT HEMISPHERE! WHOOO! cough anyway, I’ve found, with what little online gaming experience I have, that lag is mostly influenced by the quality of your connection, and the host’s. I’m not sure how your internet is over there, I’ve heard Japan has pretty good internet, but over here, mine can be a bit… moody. That said, I’ve never had any major problems so it might be worth checking your connections or changing your provider.

Hmm well obviously I didn’t know. Source would be appreciated

Well it is a personal problem, and i’m sure other persons have this problem in japan. That or they just gave up on halo.

I am stuck with one type of internet connection with no option to pay for a better one as I live on an air force base. I know how good the game is has some play into the hosts connection with yours. But I get the exact same lag with every single game I play that Americans hosts, which is 99% of the time

Ah, that sucks. I’ve never noticed any major issues with American hosts but, again, I don’t have that much online gaming experience.

I live in Australia, and we dont get any problems with lag.
