I have been thinking about this a lot, I doubt he will be in Halo 4, however I assume he will be in one of the future games, now looking at the new Elites, from Reach onward to Halo 4 it is safe to say that these guys have become more animalistic, feral, and let’s face it, less relatable. Now that being said, I like them more this way.
Now with this in mind they could bring back Keith David to do his voice again and give him an updated look, however I feel that would do an injustice to the current design choices of the Elites, and really, the entire Covenant. I think it would seem rather out of place and down right cheesy to have a single English speaking, friendly, human sounding Elite when you are surrounded by more intimidating, Alien, and scary Elites.
I am now seeing this as basicly confirming that he will not be in halo 4, not even in form of a small cameo, not to forget he has his hands tied at Sanheilios. now I wonder in the future though what approach they should/will take? New voice actor heavily effected to sound alien? Subtitles? Or just to leave him out all together?
Tough choices here.
I’m looking forward to seeing good ol’ Thel in spartan ops.

That was fake info, it was confirmed months ago.

This, Thel has been confirmed for spartan ops
> I’m looking forward to seeing good ol’ Thel in spartan ops.
Seems the Elites are busy hunting down Brutes up to 2559, so the Storm Covenant or Prometheans don’t appear to be huge problems to them. So no Thel likely.
If Keith David doesn’t return I will be pissed!

I’m not too sure about that, my friend. If so, I will be disappointed.

So where was the confirmation of him appearing in Spartan Ops? I figure it would be on NeoGaf…but there is a Frankie wannabe on that site who says false info.

I feel like I had heard it somewhere else than neogaf. I am most likely incorrect, but a man can dream.

I remember the quote from Neogaf, it was a photo shopped screen that was shown to be a fake.
Was it confirmed that Elites no longer speak english? I just assumed they would, seeing as how much of the Halo cannon depends on it.
Also, were english-speaking Elites actually speaking english or the result of some sort of automated translation software (I read most of the books aside from the Forerunner series, but can’t seem to remember)?
If it’s the former than it makes sense that many Elites wouldn’t speak it, if it’s the former then there’s no reason for them not to.
That being said, I’m really looking forward to seeing the Arbiter again, and hope they manage to get teh same voice actor.
If they revert friendly Elite audio to CE Elites (worraggh, aaaahhh, wort wort wort), I’d be glad.
I don’t want Elites trying to sound like they’re speaking English like they do in Reach and like they’re purported to do in Halo 4 IIRC.
Unless it’s like in the books, where they can’t pronounce the letter p very well.

Not as much as you really think. They only speak English to mock humans in combat, otherwise they don’t.
Have him not be in the Halo games from now on?
He was an interesting character for 2 and 3, dragging him any further would just be beating a dead elephant.

I mainly meant all the Arbiter/Human interactions, as well as the Elites in Glasslands. But there’s also the Elites in Halo 2/3.

There is a universe threatening evil, you honestly think we wouldn’t run into the Arbiter with that casting a shadow of the galaxy?

How so? He provides a completely different perspective than any other friendly character, and has as much if not more character development potential than the Chief. If handeled properly, he can potentially be one of the most interesting characters in the series (imo)

Really? Elites in Reach sounded great to me, they were not speaking any English either. I would say that they were the closer to sounding like the CE Elites than Halo 2, orHalo 3.
