I feel that slowly, throughout the last several years, online statistics have begun to turn many players into ultra competitive, trash talking, K/D card pulling jerks. There is a definite line between being competitive and being a -Yoink-.

I wish there was a “Black Ink” mechanic like when Kat says to Carter at the beginning of Reach: “I read only what wasn’t covered in Black Ink”. So we could hide our stats and play for fun again.

Even MW3 has implemented Tokens in the Prestige Shop to wipe out your stats…

I kind of would enjoy a feature that lets you control who gets to see what in your Stats, I don’t care for rather or not I have a better or worse K/D ratio than some one else, all I care is that I am having FUN, something most players these days forget is the whole reason some of us play games, not for the competitive gameplay.

Yeah, I hate it when people insult others (including me) about their stats. This would definitely be a nice option. Winning is nice and all, but people these days are way too competitive. I would personally prefer to lose, but have a fun game, than to win, and have a boring game.

it stinks when people get “hyper competitive” but removing stats or being able to hide them removes the “competitive” nature of the game.

Every time I play Reach, I always get a party of -yoinks- that think they are the -Yoink- and act like totally jerks. People are too serious about being or looking really good. They have to put up a show, or yell 1v1 me. I get competitive, but damn I don’t toss out endless insults.

I still don’t have any incentive for hiding my stats. Someone looking at them won’t hurt me. But if it helps you or anyone else, then I’m for it. I say why not have the option. Peeps care about stats way too much.

100% agree lol i actually am in party chat with my friends always. I havent been in game chat in ages XD to many idiots and sexist people trying to put flame on me for being a girl. its so pathetic how ignorant and scared some of the boys on xbox live are.

Agreed. Sometimes when I win a Rumble Pit game some people send me message saying “1v1” or trash talk me for no reason. I would prefer to lose a game and have FUN, then win a game and receive random messages insulting me. I play video games for FUN activity not for serious business.

It’s so pathetic and ignorant, that it’s quite hilarious. It’s enough for some of us that we got beaten by a girl, but quite frankly, I wouldn’t care if I got beat by a girl. Kudos to you, it shouldn’t really matter gender wise …

Hiding stats isn’t going to stop the trash talk.

Eventually, having a gamertag like “Unbatedfishtank228” is enough to get snickers.
