We all know of the cut species Bungie showed us, the Sharquoi, Alien trooper, Stalker, Special Purpose Sniper, and Keelbug. It would be cool if 343 brought these species in, though I highly doubt that they will, but I would have them not be part of the Covenant as originally conceieved. I would probably want them to be from another galaxy (preferably the Andromeda Galaxy) and bring new and unique tech and weapons from the Covenant and Forerunners. I wouldn’t have all the species allied like the Covenant but possibly have ac ouple grouped together such as the Stalkers and Sharquoi. This would bring interesting to see these other species in the Universe utside the Milky Way and add some more dynamic to the other species in the series.
Halo has barely expanded beyond the Orion Arm, beyond a few excursions to the Arks and the Megellenic Clouds. There’s plenty of space for races that are relevant to the halo story, but just throwing more aliens in doesn’t necessarily make things better.
That said, I think Keelbugs were mentioned in Contact Harvest or something weren’t they?
I think most the cut species partially were because they were sort of redundant with what we already had.
Actually, the Sharquoi are still canon.
I was unaware of these species. However, I see no reason to feature these species in the plot at this point. We already have Covenant and Forerunners.
Maybe sometime into the future though, they could be introduced.
Out of all of those, I like the Stalker the best.

Well, if you read the description of the map Wreckage in the Halo 4 Essential Guide, it says that, while some of the ships were from the UNSC and Covenant, a number of the crashed ships were also from space-capable species that are neither Human nor Covenant…
