I wish they would get rid of K/D

I’m a big Halo 4 fan and don’t have many complaints about it. But the one thing that bothers me is how they show your K/D in your service record. A good percentage of people only care about keeping a good K/D. This ruins every objective game type because people only go for kills, besides going the objective. I played 5 CTF matches today and the games only finished because of the time limit going out. In other words, it would be nice if K/D was only implemented for Slayer game types. I love playing objective game types but K/D seems to ruin it. In past halos no one cared about how many kills or deaths they had, it was a matter if they won or not. K/D shouldn’t be used to judge the skill level of a halo player. Beside showing our K/D, they should show the 1-50 CSR rank.

Edit: we’re not complaining about if we have a low or high K/D. We’re just talking about how it affects the gameplay.

There’s always people that do that. I don’t think disabling K/D effecting your overall K/d would change how people act. They’ll still be trying to get Perfections, Commendations or something else.

Well taking away K/D in-game won’t stop it people would just come on here to check. Maybe taking away K/D all together will help both Objective and Slayer games,

eh, it would be cool if objectives had no effect on your K/D. If only slayer based games had an influence on your K/D and objectives didn’t affect it in any way. I think that would put more focus on playing the objective than padding your K/D like most people do (including myself). Hey, I mean I’m gonna be honest. Yes, my kills are “defense,” because a lot of times I’m protecting the objective and people have to open themselves up to try to get it, but still…

I understand you might not agree with it, but I like the fact that they show our stats. Kills and Deaths are apart of the game. Visible K/D doesn’t hurt anyone and probably won’t change the way people play. If you don’t want to be bothered by it, ignore it.

I agree, back in Halo 3 people would compete to be the driver of warthog. Now most people just want to be the turret so they can get the kills

Exactly, I had a 0.83 K/D in Halo 3 but I didn’t care, I still made it to 36 in ranked games and I won most of the games and I played to win. I miss the days when people played to win instead of just killing as much player as you can.

Why remove a feature that has always been here…? You guys make no sense.

Agree. I hate it when people thing your terrible at Halo just because I have a negative K/D. I’m not some kind of Rambo dude who goes solo. I’m a team player. I either go for the objective or protect and cover my teammate whose is getting the objective.

Oh I so want to be able to turn off the CSR visibility. Oh please oh please 343.

> Why remove a feature that has always been here…? You guys make no sense.

So just because something was a certain way for a long time . . . there’s nothing wrong with it.

not sure if trolling or serious, but with the way gamers play now where teamwork has been substituted for kills, there might be a valid point in this to save objectives because these gamers are using it to pad their K/D’s so they can brag about it later instead of trying to win. I understand that removing the K/D in slayer based gametypes would be absolutely stupid and pointless, but having the K/D completely invisible and unaffected by objectives might be able to make objectives more competitive like it used to be.

Removing the K/D would be pointless. Quit whining. You dont see people complaining on CoD forums or other FPS forums about their K/Ds being low. Its just numbers, as all of you have said. If it “doesn’t matter” why care if it’s there or not? What they do need to change, however, is how all playlists except Grifball, Team Doubles, and Team Objective allow boosting. That needs to be fixed before worrying about “Oh, I dont want people seeing my horrible K/D even though I don’t care about it”.

for the sake of encouraging people to play the strategical gametypes as intended, it probably would help if the k/d didn’t factor in with k/d’s from straight-up slayer types. i’m not afraid to run out in the open and move that flag the next ten feet towards our base if it means we might eventually get it there. that’s precisely why my k/d’s on all such gametypes are terrible. xD

I never saw the appeal of K/D. Not least because the kiddies on here use it as the ultimate judgment. When I play objective I play it to win. I’d go -1million if it meant capturing the flag.

Now what would be really useful is Slayer K/D minus the objective games. Keep those yoinkers from ruining Objective for the rest of us.

You can blame the fact that teamwork has gone out the window on 343 turning halo into a class based shooter with random ordinance drops and no skill rank whatsoever. If my team-mates suck, which 7/10 they do, im not even going to bother about the win, il just go for kills.

Exactly. Plus the skill it takes to be good at this game has depleted. Ordinances in Slayer Pro? Are you serious 343? Get your head in the game, and out of the dirt.

Maybe people would focus more on winning and less about K/D if 343 didn’t cater to the players who cried for the removal of skill-based ranks.

Wait how does it effect you if I can turn off my Visibility of CSR. You stlll get CSR? I just want the option to say nope to low or lets have some fun today and not care. You still get to do as you please. I just want to bow out of Stat Tracking and just play for fun

We’re not complaint about our personal K/D’s… We’re just explaining how it impacts gameplay

Have 1-50 and people will just care about winning, especially in objective games.

But hey, 343 doesn’t want to keep their fanbase so meh.
