The HCS team coatings is proof that 343i know how to make good coatings that players would want from patterns, color, and design. Instead, the regular layers are still stuck being primary and secondary armor piece designs. Most of the majority of the legendary coatings don’t match up to those.
Most of the coatings we have are still pretty good, but this is just to inform everyone that 343i definitely knows how to make them better.

How about ditch coatings and the crap this has and go back to earning armor and stuff. Earning stuff with a credit card isn’t earning or working towards a reward
Or just deal with it and understand what my forum is fighting for? If we already have it, why not fight for the chance to make it better? Instead of whining over something that probably wont happen?
They seem to be a good incentive for a lot of people to “watch” the HCS on twitch. Why wouldn’t they keep “good” coatings as rewards?
Because these good rewards only only set to be exclusives. Nothing in the game itself is gained as a good reward through a progression. Some rewards in the shop are barely good, but I am sure people are actually hunting for coatings.
Let’s be honest, collecting/hunting these cosmetics has more to do with FOMO than the item being “good.”
The coating system being what it is is one Nabor reason why I havnt touched Infinite since January or December. There are others but not having rewards in game for doing stuff it being on the store only or limited time events not achievements like h3 era is a big let down
Game’s have literally designed the idea of the “completionist” to be impossible now a days. My kid probably won’t know what it means when they grow up lol
Multiplayer games have become impossible to earn everything. It’s either a loot box luck, store only, or dedicate your next 8 years to one game to reach 20 trillion XP to get the highest rank and final unlock.
Thankfully single player games are largely untouched by these systems…yet.
That only depends on the game you’re playing. If he’s playing solo, he doesn’t need to worry about any of these online games. These days, modern games just constantly progress into more content. The only flaw is if the pacing of the progression.
But sadly just like what he said, some solo games are now doing the same thing. Starting with DLCs and now content expansions like what AC Valhalla does.
