I wish halo could go back to its troditional roots

I would hope the next halo is more like halo 3 or 2. I know I’m gonna get hate from this post but I went back to halo 3 and realized how much better it is then halo 5. The sad part is that I started on halo 5 and I’m good at the game so I’m not just hating on it because I’m not good or something. The old ones are just better, I liked halo 5 but then I realize how much better the other ones are. A lot of people agree with me on this but go ahead start the hate messages, it’s just my opinion and the million other halo fans that are now on to other games because of the lack of hope of traditional halo games. This game just makes me sad :frowning:

Agree why hasnt 343 made a game like 2 and 3. It has been proven that there is one winning formula to selling a crap ton of Halo games. And even Halo 5 has tooken a step towards the originals from what ever garbage Halo 4 and Reachs MP was and has got much more positive feedback so why not take one more step further and make it like the originals.

-No sprint
-Only some spartan abilitys
-elites
-dual weild
-Maps where every unsc structure does not look the same(80% of the maps r unsc maps)

I might make my own form on this

H2A exist… just sayin… if the old Halo is so great, which I agree… there is MCC… and before you go on the “it’s broken” rant… my mcc has been working fine for a long time now and I still find games in it. EVERY Halo brought changes to game play and mechanics. Why take such a large step backwards. The mechanics of H5 I feel are goodnight. Get rid of Spartan charge and they would be near perfect. But going back to the original formula I feel won’t accomplish much.

So you prefer a system that limits the uses of weapons over a system that makes every weapon useful and accurate?

Did you know Halo 3 was going to have space battles and a open world sand box with Enemy AI all over the place. If the game wasn’t rushed it would be my favorite Halo but sadly it was.
Did you know that Halo 2 and Halo 3 were meant to be the same game but Bungie chopped the story and ended Halo 2 with a cliffhanger.

343 should’ve honestly looked back at CE for inspiration for how to create amazing game play. Too bad many fans of halo prefer the passive play style of halo 2 and 3 over aggression in h1.

Please discuss, because you give no context for what made my post laughable.

If Halo 5 didn’t have the REQ system, had the old art style, and had the same fun playlists, it would be an almost perfect game. It’s fun as it is now, but I don’t enjoy it as much as the older ones.

CE had some great btb maps I will give it that. I started with H2… I didn’t experience HCE multiplayer until MCC and it does play good… death island is about the best brb map ever.

Yes, your MCC is working. It varies a lot I believe.

I think that sprint and most spartan abilities are a step backwards.

Halo 1 may have the best gameplay from 2001 however it was Halo 3 that had the best gameplay from 2007 but what most people don’t understand is why have game mechanics from 2001-2010 when those mechanics were only remotely good in 2007. Halo: Reach lost the classic Halo fans from 2004 when Bungie included Armor Abilities. That is what I find funny.
343 Industries is trying to combine Game mechanics from 2004 with new Mechanics we haven’t experience until Halo 5 was released.
If Halo was the same thing from 2010 every time then it would be like Call of Duty when it comes to Being released basically the same thing each time but with graphical improvements. I doubt any Halo fan wants that?

I know what you’re talking about in that second paragraph, those were prototypes for Reach made in 3’s engine.

I don’t see this often from new fans but it makes me glad to see fans like you. Hoping H6 sorts out all the problems from h4,5.

I guess we’ll just have to disagree for what halo game provided the most skillful gameplay I suppose. I hated h3 for its painfully slow gameplay that was
more entertaining to watch.

Lets all hope 343 can bring Halo’s traditional gameplay back, along with more Classic OSTs. Please, Microsoft, make them do it!!!

I legitimately came into this thread thinking OP was trying to make a pun with “troditional”… I don’t know whether or not to be disappointed.

As for the topic itself, what was the point of this? When making statements like “this is better”, you should try to articulate what you think they did better. If you don’t, people may get the impression you’re just vying for attention rather than trying to start a discussion. You didn’t mention even a single aspect of the games or how they compare in your opening post.

What do you feel Halo 3 did better than Halo 5: Guardians?

Each Halo plays extremely different to each other, all of them have added or changed something in the sandbox.

I honestly don’t care how it plays as long as it has a strong community and lasts a long time and gets big

Yeah as someone who plays in a party I experience a lot of issues.

Regular UI crashes and glitches. That put me in a state that prevents me finding games until I restart the game, and re-join the party. (I have to do this half a dozen times a night, if not more)
Near broken in game chat. Cuts out during loading of pretty much any kind. That forces us to us Party chat or not always hear each other.
Broken Emblems in Halo 2. Making organising and recognising teammates a huge hassle in the game.

Then there’s just general bad design choices,
No true LAN support
Cross game playlists
Having to back out to the playlists after each MM game

Maybe if I just played on my own and no mic I wouldn’t have a problem. But that isn’t how you should experience Halo, if I’m honest.
