I mean they wanted the multiplayer to be really competitive… they said they even brought in pros to help them with the multiplayer… but I just can’t see any pro Halo player endorsing Spartan charge. I don’t see any of them saying … yeah make it so simply running into some one takes their shields away and disorients them… and better yet sometimes actually kill them… let’s reward sprinting players for being late on the trigger… Spartan charge in warzone sure… but it really doesn’t belong in RANKED play. … I just loath it!
Spartan charge leaves you vulnerable once you trigger it! You basically take a risk and the reward is the advantage over your opponent.
It has longer range the regular melee and a tad more kick to it, sending your target off. You expose yourself big time and if your opponent dodges, you’re gonna have a run for your money. If you were to chase someone JUST to melee, they’d just see you on the motion tracker before you can surprise them, most likely gun you down and thus thy shall experience the death at the hands of your colourful enemy!
I find spartan charge to be a brilliant tool for an offense but only in close quarter combat and vice versa.
Now you try charge the spire on APEX by flailing the butt of your gun! Haha
Nah but really! Spartan charge, if used correctly, can be a brilliant tool to surprise the opponent on maps such as Truth or Regret. Use when practical and not when flashy
It’s nothing but a crutch for those who can’t shoot and are late on the trigger when sprinting around.

The radar is not helpful at all. You get a split second to react before someone bum rushes behind you killing you instantly
Spartan charge is in because of sprint, it is to stop the double Melee issue from Reach and 4.
I don’t like Spartan charge, it is another reason why sprint was a bad idea, they had to change the whole game to suit it.
I do agree that it is a crutch though, however it’s purpose is to stop that horrid double Melee.

I agree completely I hate spartan charge, it just does not seem to have any place in the game, and definitely not in ranked. It is very upsetting that people who as you say are late on the trigger, get rewarded.

Yeah when you put it that way, it does make a lot of sense. Sadly, another forced mechanic.

At least double melee took a little skill with timing Spartan charge takes pretty much no skill… not only does it have some magnetism but it does the same amount of damage no matter at what distance they hit you at and no matter if they full on hit or just barely graze you.
At least 75% of the time you were to die by Spartan charge, you’ll just die from a sprinting melee. It’s gotten easy to dodge and easy to counter. The only real problem is the magnetism.
A lot better than that Speed Boost Spartan Charge that used to be here a few months ago.

Ofcourse i can’t speak on everyone’s behalf, nor can i speak on your behalf but i have dodged quite a few Spartan Charge’s, seeing as i use the Motion tracker as if it was my 2nd pair of eyes on the back!
I usually judge from the speed they have on the tracker as to wether they’re charging or just walking towards me. Comes with a bit of practice and i can say this: I used to hate the Charge but eventually i just grew into how i could avoid it better. My reactive instinct has improved seeing as my survival in the game, was depending on it.

Ooookay, well everyone’s allowed their opinion on things!
Tho why should i shoot someone, when i can conserve the ammo and slam into him first, stripping him/her of their shields and delivering a final blow by bullet or melee?
We all like different things i suppose but be more fair minded! I have seen good players use Charge where it made more sense then anything else. Halo 5 isn’t 2,3,Reach or 4… It’s 5! Its built around Spartans utilizing new abilities and changing the overall way of how Arena games run!
I really DON’T wanna be like those typical old veterans, despite me having the same age within the community but- Adapting is one of the human abilities we got for a reason. That way we just tend to do better!
And in no way am i calling you a bad player through any part of this post, friend!

Yes I know this, I’m not saying it’s better than having double Melee, I am only outlining the reason why 343 put it in the game.
Spartan an charge is another tool in the hands of trolls too, the amount of times I’ve been pushed off the side of an infection map due to a team mate Spartan charging me is not funny.
I like it. I also play warzone a lot more than arena.

No offense, but you’re really hyping up SC as a more skillful mechanic than what it actually is. It requires no strategy to pull off and is viable in most rushes when approaching enemies around corners. Not only that, but its magnetism so so strong that people may only barely miss their charges at worst. It’s benefits far outweigh its weaknesses since the knock back and time needed to finish the animation gives perpetrators substantial opportunities to finish their targets. I’m sorry, but SC should be removed in halo 6 with how unskillful the mechanic is.
Personally, I -Yoink-ing HATE spartan charge. Nothing annoys and frustrates me more than being full shields and literally out of nowhere (because the radar -Yoink-ing sucks) I get charged and I’m instantly dead with no way to even try and defend myself. They don’t even have to shoot me, straight spartan charged and I’m dead.
Well you see. Oni Tec’s discovered in Halo Reach that if you have the mass and full power your jets you could take down a scarab. Biegn that Saprtans weight over 1500lbs they said hey lets put thrusters in the armor and see what happens when a 1500lbs Spartan runs at full speed, Inguages the thrusters and Rams another Spartan. Well after the first test two things happend. A Spartan went MIA according to the official record and then Spartan charge was born.
Spartan charge is great it should knock you all the way back to HCE. And as for what pro gamers want I could care less there like 1% of this place.
I must be one of the minority that can counter it easily. You don’t need radar to hear the SC coming and you can melee back if you know the timing

Considering they hired an entire group of professional players to play test the game and all aspects of it…I feel like “pros endorsed it.”

They’re both problems born of sprint. I’d imagine very few pros would endorse sprint, but it’s there and they probably just needed to make the best of it by fixing the double melee. I don’t think it’s a matter of how the pros endorsed it, just that there was a problematic side effect of sprint that needed to be fixed and Spartan Charge was a solution.
I could understand the concept of Spartan Charge fixing double melee if Spartan Charges were the same range as melee, the same aim assist as melee, and the same damage.
Right now it’s even more powerful than a double melee ever was.
You wanna talk about pro play? The direction they should’ve gone is nerfing melee lunge (and possibly other aspects as well) so you aren’t just mashing B and trading deaths every single time you enter CQC with someone. Instead they not only left melee as ridiculous as it’s always been (bar-Ce), they further buffed it as well.
