As this year comes to a close, I reflected back on these past couple years since Halo 5 came out, that caused me both immense pleasure and anger. I came to the conclusion that I have been greatly unfair to 343 Industries for the inconsistent gameplay from one multiplayer match to the next. I have also been super-critical of their development skills for which I do sincerely apologize. After all, we wouldn’t have had Halo 4 or Halo 5 without them, and for the endless hours of gameplay (for better or worse) that kept me coming back day after day. I do genuinely enjoy playing Slayer on Halo 5 and chasing that Onyx rank. I also enjoy playing MCC’s Halo:CE, especially with the latest update which clearly shows the higher resolution to the original graphics, and slightly brightening the dark areas. That just made my MCC playtime that much better. Thank you, 343 for the best update yet. And of course, I downloaded Halo: Reach (which I haven’t completed yet).
So, going into 2020, I am changing my attitude and my feelings towards 343 Industries. I am grateful to them for improving the games that I love playing and for making Halo 4 and 5, and Infinite (which I am definitely looking forward to!). I apologize for giving you guys a hard time. Looking forward to 2020.
Be sure to not over-correct and only say positive things from now on though. They’ve done plenty of things worth criticizing–what those things are differ from person to person.
As someone who really loves the franchise, including Halo 5 and 343, I’m glad to hear it. I think the Halo 5 complaints got out of hand, and rapidly spiraled downward into useless, reactionary nonsense. There are certainly valid complaints to be made [and I have a few myself—who doesn’t about any game, really?], but what the community devolved into was just toxic and destructive, because it makes it impossible for both other members in the community and the developers to know which complaints to take seriously. The Halo Community Feedback Program managers must’ve had a hell of a time sorting through the refuse.

> Merry Christmas and a Happy, healthy New Year!!
Hey BT, long time no see. If you even need help with a rank on H5 I’d be glad to stop playing Reach and help you out. Other than that I hope to play with you again on Reach, Happy New Year!

There’s this phrase “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all”. I full heartedly feel that should be rephrased to “If you can’t say something NICELY, don’t say it at all.” People seem to forget you can be critical of something you don’t like, while refraining from being rude at the same time. :>
