Playing through the Infinite campaign I had no idea how I was supposed to interpret the UNSC’s situation on the ring. I’m confused that we have the resources to not only supply ourselves and endless squads of marines with weapons and vehicles but New Cortana can also clone and 3D print alien technology all day long too… I was told this would be explained but I must have missed it? I’m not used to using my imagination in a Halo game if that’s what I’m supposed to do, I usually play these campaigns largely for the story telling experience… I also have to ask, why was Chief’s armour/tech not fully upgraded when he recieved it? Did he lose his upgrades before the start of the game or does the UNSC just think he’ll be fine with lesser equipment?
Also another similar thing that has me confused is the propaganda towers. Are they easter eggs or are they canon? How do the humans understand what the aliens are saying? Do the grunts know that the UNSC can translate their voice in real time or did those grunts learn English? And would the UNSC even bother to camp anywhere near such a sound system in the first place? It just seems like such a strange resource to waste materials on while also complaining that your resources are running low…
