This ranking system is cancer… Can someone please explain how i can win 9 of 10 games and finish with 154 kills and 73 deaths in swat and im ranked in platinum? I was a champion for the majority of preseason and was excited to get it back in the January season but now itll take alot longer ffs… I dont even enjoy playing swat its just i had onyx in every playlist and now ill probably get put into platinum in every other playlist too. It is very infuriating. Would rather just have a 1-50 system and then when you get to rank 50 you fight for top 200 or something like that.
Trust me, we know. There is post after post about this. I am in the same boat.

You’re the first person I’ve seen complain about getting underranked. Most people get stuck in levels too high for their actual ability level.

Under ranking is as bad if not worse.
Surely grinding from 1-50 is worse than grinding platinum to champion if you are good enough.

If it would be 1-50 - than you also would have to begin from the scratch with the Season resets. God these whiners today, the new ranking system is better and have already proven worth in other Games as well. If you dont like it move on or shut up…
Also to grind up if you are really as good as you say, is much easier than end up in a high rank were you don’t belong to… god even the champions players seems to be casuals nowdays …

no, grinding from 1-50 is way better. The problem is that when you win in lower divisions in this game you barely gain any rank therefore youre stuck down there and instead of playing the pros like i would like to and grinding for champion i cant do that anymore.

i was high level onyx in a few playlists and i want to be playing good and better people so i can be the absolute best i can be. I dont want to waste my time going 20-4 every game and not getting any better.

you dont understand lol i want to be playing pros in the early days before they all become too high ranked and they only rank other people in the top 50 of champion against them. The game isnt fun when im just recking kids all day im trying to get better and playing really bad people can give you really bad habits.

It’s not the grind that we’re complaining about. It’s the fact that the system isn’t doing what it was advertised to do. If we have to grind anyways, why not make it 1-50?
Yeah underranking is worse. There were matches were i went 2+ or 3+ kd and still lose csr. If you are overranked, you can easilly put back on a lower rank if your skill level is not enough.

Why are you so attached to 1-50? That system also had its problems and limitations. Bronze to diamond is basically a scale of 1-30 that you can start anywhere on. Onyx and champion provide a range that offers greater skill gap than 50’s of yore.
To the guy complaining that he wants to play pros, starting in platinum you’ll play them sooner than starting at equivalent level 1? No?

Are you seriously comparing ranking time without even mentioning the fact that one system resets and the other does not?
This crap is gonna happen every month, in 2 years the consistent players will have played 240 placement matches. .
That being said, that issue could be easily mitigated by just resetting real Arena. No need to bring slayer, swatc etc. into the reset category, just let the rest stay permanent. We know where the competitive scene is going to be hanging out.
Heck, if anything, making resets “exclusively on competition settings” could work out to be an even better marketing angle for the competitive audience.

For me it sounds like, we should give all pros a free ticket to tourmanents, by the logic of yours…no everyone should have a chance to play in the high ranks so even pro player should show /proven their skill/worth again, even if it means to “wrecking Kids”. If you are as good as you claim(didn’t look into your stats), there shouldn’t any problem for you to easy get up Champion.I mean to rank up in Halo 5 is REALLY fast if you are good and only win matches(my nephew hit diamon from platinum in one day) For me it sounds like, if you whine about these, than either you are lazy, and in my opinion than your Champion-Status is undeserved, or you fear its hard to claim the Champion Status again, which also in my opinion your champion status underserved as welll.
The Major Problem with the classic Ranking is, its way to simple for an competitive Game. To hit 1-50 isn’t even that skillbased, its more about luck and timeconsuming. And after someone reached 50, there is huge Skillgap. So even a lot of rank 50 players aren’t (that) pro… They fixed that with the new system. But also it have 2 flaws. (which one of that yet is fixed) First the unability do get ranks down. No Ranking-System is perfect, not this either. Sometimes you get wrong placed. For underranked its easy - they can play fast high, but people who are placed to high, its the hell. Either adapt it in a very frustrating way, or stop playing. And thats the only huge critique which i have with the System. i mean they adapt it from other popular competititve Games(lol, csgo) why didn’t they put downranking as well. The Second problem were Onyx/Champion. As far as i understand its a ladder-system where the best 200 players get champion rank. I suppose it gets down to how many kill/deaths/wins/loses etc you have. The major problem is, even if its competitive in the beginning, after a year the time which players spent, the so called champions is running by itself. As example if we get new players which are pretty damn good, as good to even would deserve an Champions Rank, it would be still near impossibly for them to reach champion because of the advantage longstanding players have. Champions could spent almost 1 year to get their 10.000 kills, its impossible for new players to catch up that. You simply can’t make(again its only example) 10.000 kills in a few days. With the Season-Resett, every player have a chance to reach champions if its deserved and even newcomers get the chance…
/edit: I know the Champion-placements system is more depth, but i hope i could picture it for you how i mean it so you get the hang of it!

I agree with you here. I don’t think all playlists should reset. There should be social/ranked/seasonal playlists. Seasonal should only be 1-2 lists max.
A compromise maybe would be seasonal has placements like now and resets monthly while permanent lists on ranked everybody starts bronze 1 and grinds up like the old 1-50. Pew Yoinking! pew

I don’t know, i find it wouldn’t be fair for newcommers etc…because its easier if the time goes by for pro’s to be in top place…even if there are as good as or better player compared to some champions…
