Right as we know , anyone that has played Halo 4 and completed it knows cortana has died . There is the possibility that she will be bought back but she is most likely dead. I have played through every Halo game since Halo CE Right up to Halo 4 . When Cortana died I dont know why but I just didnt care as much as I should have , it didnt seem to make me sad like many other Long term Halo fans were. I was more upset when Sgt.Johnson died in Halo 3 then when Cortana died. I always prefered Sgt.Johnson and he was my favourite character in Halo . Was anyone else more upset when Sgt.Jonhson died to ?? I like was mad when Sgt.Johnson died and I went all out on killing the -Yoink- 343 guilty spark . Maybe it’s because I read the books I dont know.
Oh man I just started laughing really hard because I had absolutely forgotten about his death! When I had beat the Halo 4 campaign I was just thinking about there did they left Johnson haha!
I’ve beat the Halo 3 campaign countless times, but I just keep forgetting that man.
None of the Halo campaigns have had a moment that has gotten me upset, tbh.
Sgt Johnson and Keyes died in halo 3, and the arbiter left, bungie got rid of all key characters in halo 3.
in my opinion 343i did an AMAZING job of replacing them with new characters,
first is Lasky, Foward unto dawn, awesome, amazing character replacement.
Sarah Palmer, one of the best characters ever in halo if you ask me
although halo will not be the same without Cortana, they even included her in halo reach

Agreed 343i’s job of character development is fantastic . Lasky is great, I just never liked Cortana , Sgt Jonhson Made Halo 1-3 with me due to his badass quotes and tough personality .
One main factor that diminished the emotional impact of her “death” is that we didn’t actually see it. At least Johnson didn’t send you an e-mail stating that he died back there when you weren’t looking.

Ha ha true lol , never thought about it liked that . Good point the death was very drawn out. Also Cortanan wasn’t killed by a enemy she was killed by rampancy which affects every AI , Atleast we got revenge for Johnson.

Cortana couldn’t died in Halo 4, there’s so many clues about her survival. Most of the game is based on coming back to Earth and find Halsey, to save Cortana. If she isn’t in Halo 5 and 6, I’ll feel betrayed by 343i. Why giving us hope all along the campaign about saving Cortana and kill her at the end of the first game of the Reclaimer trilogy? Inacceptable!. By the way, it will be a good ending if John or Cortana (or both) dies at the end of this trilogy, but until then she have to live.
