Melee from behind?
Sucks if you were a victim of lag or desync and a front on melee registered as a back smack.
Check the theatre replay and see what their kill feed shows.
Enemy probably went for the Achilles Spine medal, i.e. melee an overshielded enemy in the back and killing him in 1 hit.

Is that a thing? The other week I literally had a team-mate running behind someone with an OS and they weren’t shooting. I was furious! Yelling at them to shoot or stick them. Man, I was losing my -yoink-.
Now it makes sense!
But I’m no less angry at them.

Yes, backsmacking someone with an OS (Achilles Spine) is an instant kill.
