I was excited for the new Lone Wolves armor... until I read that it's a separate armor core

I had assumed that it was going to be a separate armour core.

You have the modern Mark 7 armour core, Reach era core, Tenrai core, Lone Wolves armour core, and the new fracture core.

It is true that many customisation options were lacklustre at the release, but I don’t personally have an issue with the armour core system. I like collecting and customising different armours which you can then equip.

Knowing how the game game has been designed? I don’t know why any of you expect things to work within a reasonable matter. I also don’t know what any of you expect knowing this “new model” is more important then designing a quality type of game.

Fortunately, in the latest Season 1 Outcomes report from 343, they mentioned that during Season 2 they will have plans to make helmets, visors, and coatings be cross-core across canon armor cores. While it certainly should have been a feature at launch, this is at least a step in the right direction:

Visors/coatings are crosscore for every core, helmets/chest gear will be cannon core only.

I don’t get why people keep messing that up, it’s not like it is worded weird.

Also, we have no confirmation that helmets/chest gear crosscore will be coming in Season 2

BLUE?!

YOU EXPECT ME TO SPEND MONEY ON THE COLOR BLUE!?

ARE YOU INSANE!?

i wonder how many people will get the reference

This is the issue. New season, new core. Tf is the point of $20 iron man coating. They really expect us to just buy color schemes for 1-2 cores at a time.

Just make em universal holy moly. If they wanted to have specific attachments fit only that core, such as shoulders helmets and chest and leg stuff, okay sure, I can see clipping issues with using yoroi stuff on the reach core- fine, whatever.
But visor colors and armor coatings should be able to be applied on everything.

EDIT: I see this has been acknowledged by 343. Okay cool, I was going to actually spend some credits to get that pink visor in the shop last night but it wasn’t on the core I wanted to use. Also, that pink visor was in a 1500 bundle with a bunch of trash I also didn’t want.

Slip-up on my part about coatings/visors being for all cores, but did 343 not state in the Outcomes report that they’d begin adding canon helmet cross-core customization starting in Season 2?

Here is the quote from the blog that I think you are getting that from.

Season 2 will improve on the free experience by slowly removing armor core limitations to enable more customization options with those free items

That’s all they say about WHEN we will see crosscore added into the game, and seeing as they said their first priority will be to get visors/coatings working across all cores (shouldn’t take too long I would think)

In short, our goal is that we will be incrementally moving to a model that has coatings and visors working across all cores

with helmets and chest gear working across canon cores as our first focused changes to make in the system.

Depending on how long it takes them to get all of the visors/coatings done, we should probably see helmets/chest attachments getting worked on late season 2/early season 3 (or just later in season 2 if it is 6 months, which I severely hope it isn’t)

They are workin on cross core currently hopefully we will see em for this core plus reach and mark 7

hopefully there some cool Mk7 armor, but i really want that sweet eva looking helmet with the blue visor

if this is the case i don’t see how bots were doing this since day 1

Maybe the bots don’t have cores at all, they just put randomly put together stuff from the pool of cosmetics in the game.

okay that does make sense, on the other hand it could be an issue with there UI bugging out

I can understand them limiting cores due to something like having Jorges chest piece on the Yaroi core and attachments would also probably be a lot of work for the more specialized and/or unique attachments such as the Oni Mask.

But I don’t understand why they’d limit colors (aside from selling Red and Blue for each new core) it just seems like a silly choice, and the same goes for visor options, I can’t imagine it’d be all that difficult to copy a color from 1 visor, and throw it onto another for a different core.

Personally, I think (and from the sound of it, this probably is the direction they are going) they should just go through, look at all the armor, and see," What core will this fit on?"
If it fits, let it go on that core, if it doesn’t, don’t let it.
That way, just because a lot of the chest attachments won’t fit on other cores, the ones that do fit will be crosscore.

343 did mention that they are working on cross-core in the new S1 Outcomes post.

Blockquote
Enabling customization across different armor cores has been the largest point of feedback when it comes to customization. We agree that there is room to have better customization by lifting core restrictions where possible. … As we investigate what expanding to cross-core customization would require from a tech perspective, our initial focus is on enabling as many helmets, visors, and armor coatings across different cores as possible. In short, our goal is that we will be incrementally moving to a model that has coatings and visors working across all cores; with helmets and chest gear working across canon cores as our first focused changes to make in the system.

Maybe there’s optimism here?

I can’t think of a single good thing armor cores have done.

I just wish they would let you at least use whatever armor coatings you have on each core. Even if they didnt do that, they should at least allow people to customize the way the coatings are applied to the armor.

Example: if your coating consists of the colors red white and blue, you should be able to put each color wherever youd like on the armor. This would at least give players some way to express themselves differently from others

Correction. It should read:

People figured this out in the begining.

Dont tell me those who kept saying its not a big deal and kept supporting if are only just realising what it actually means now?
