I wanted to Bring this to your attention.

Im being paranoid. I have a WILD explanation for the new trilogy.

Imagine that John lands on the installation. Lets make things simple and say that a powerful forerunner or AI warns him that cataclysmic events will occur should the humans reverse engineer Forerunner tech. [(such as humanity dooming themselves or becoming a threat once again to the universe(war between forerunner and humans)}

It becomes John’s mission to warn Humanity that we must leave the Tech alone. ONI of course has other plans and sends Spartan IVs to stop john from sabotaging ONI.

Perhaps this is what Frankie meant by “we have created a fairly compelling reason why red Spartans can fight blue Spartans”. Notice that he says this right after the SIVs are introduced.

This could be a fight/schizm between Humanity.

Side note:
On the New battle rifle, i dont remember that insignia being on there before, It sort of resembles the UNSC insignia but it looks like somthing else. link

Yeah, it makes sense. I like it, have no idea how you get there from where you started though.

That would be a very interesting plot. One that I would very interested in seeing unfold.

I really like your idea OP, but it seems like there could be 1 tiny flaw in the MP fiction you’re suggesting…

It sounds like you’re basically saying the reds would be S4’s, and the blues S2’s, or vise versa. If that were the case, wouldn’t one team have an advantage over the other? I mean, afterall, S2’s are bio engineered to be bigger, faster, stronger… So wouldn’t that give them a bit of an upper hand? I guess 343 could think of ways to balance it so that S4’s have a fair chance, but who knows…

Just a thought that popped in my head.

I know exactly what you are saying. It would be easy to say that by the time john comes back, all of the remaining spartan 2s/3s have allready upgraded their armour and is excluded from this war. But i think it would be more likely that there is literally a kind of… CIVIL war. Like ONI has recruited a separate army of SIVs to steal the tech.

But this is just crazy speculation again lol of course it doesn’t make much sense.

I was thinking that maybe there is a red and blue regiment or squad

But but both squads make different morality choices in the story

like blue decided to help john for the good of humanity but red just chooses the easy way out and to follow orders like mindless fools and the blue team gets labelled as traitors.

red team will also be kind of the villains, there will be various skirmishes with them because they are the ones in charge of bringing you down…they become rivals.

(this is going with your idea kind of)

Thats the Misriah Armory symbol on the BR.

I’m not fond of this plot. I’m expecting something far more grand and epic than a mere civil war. But it would explain the trashed cutscene.

Yah i certainly hope soo lol

that’s a great theory. i think that its a fight between Halsey’s new spartans and Col. Anderson’s spartans. this is just a speculation, though. if you’ve got no idea what i’m talking about, read Halo: Glasslands.

oh wait… XD im talking about multiplayer. sorry for off-topicness.

This is a very reasonable suggestion.

Obviously we know that humans will interact with John at some point but we don’t know if this will be friendly or hostile. It would indeed through a lot of us off our feet.

Nice idea!

Let me break it down for ya. Halo 4, 5, and 6 will most likely feature Humans fighting an ungodly amount of Flood. The forerunners will show up at some point, as allies or enemies I don’t no.

As for the Spartan IV’s, well. The reasoning, to me, seems to be that being non-augmented and all, the S4’s are simply veteran soldiers. They will most likely need to go through a training process to get full control of their new abilities. A training process such as, perhaps, squads of Red teams and Blue teams facing off to hone their skills? No?

This is more of practical explanation and I actually thought of this concept the first time Frank mentioned the fiction side to Red vs Blue.

However, I think it’s interesting to speculate over ideas such as these, especially when above is actually quite good.

i like it! I just wanted to be crazy =D

what about the terimals in halo anniversary they kept saying things about a forerunner general

Wow this is cool it would be a fun plot too. I would want to fight a spartan it would awesome but sad

I’m betting that new symbol is just the insignia for the SPARTAN IV program, but that could also mean an allegiance with ONI, not the UNSC…

Interesting Idea, but I hear in the books it hints the return of the predecessors.

So how do they keep respawning? Unless there’s something like the Animus from Assassin’s Creed, the Spartans would literally be killing each other.

Perhaps–based on the civilian-available armory’s insignia on the BR–the insurrectionists (or civilians in general) managed to create their own Spartans or brainwash pre-existing ones? Maybe Spartans deserted and are supplying themselves from Misriah? Just guesses.
