I Want To See More Pros Using M&K in the HCS

I’ll answer your question. MnK can turn faster, more precision aim with equipment, and has a virtually unlimited number of control mappings. But these advantages don’t outweigh the aim assist on controller.

So you admit you don’t have an answer, cool.

Yes, I do admit that I don’t have an answer. Now go eat some lunch or take a walk.

It’s a console game made for controllers. Get yourself a controller.

Gross, no thank you.

Oh, you’re one of them.

What? A person that wants to use their preferred input device, while also having a healthy representation in the pro scene? Ya, I guess I am one of them.

My god, man. Now we need M&KB representation?! I’m done.

Absolutely. I enjoy watching pro players that rely on their raw skill rather than players that rely on the machine assisted skill. Makes it more entertaining to watch.

Just stop
There is no aim assist on controller. Crazy talk.

Oh my… I think I’m getting baited. Well played.

I don’t know. I feel like controller aim assist in this game is practically a myth. If they make it any harder for controller players to aim I’m going to have to retire. That or get comfortable bent over holding my ankles.

Because it is a myth. The PC guys who don’t cheat, cant figure why they stink with M&KB on a game made for controllers. So they say a1M AssISt then come here and bang on their KB to 343.

The solution isn’t to change controller AA. I can only think of two solutions to remedy the current lack of M&K in the top 8 teams:

  1. Increase bullet magnetism on M&K
  2. Create a separate tourney for M&K players

Two things.

  1. HCS has always been a “secret club.” It’s full of washed up old Halo controller players. There’s been no interest in competitive Halo since 2010. No new blood, no new talent. Idk if you’ve ever watched one of these HCS games, but they all seem like they’re not that amazing and you can tell their skills are deteriorating with age.

  2. This kind of ties into the first reason, but this is the first time most M&K players are getting their hands on Halo. Halo PC, Halo 2 Vista, and MCC, were all not very popular releases. Infinite is going to have to capture a PC audience and then it’s gonna take them time to learn the mechanics, game sense, and strats they need to perform well.

If this game is still popular in a year the competitive space will be dominated by new people on K&M.

Controller play has a lower skill ceiling and makes it less fun to watch, that’s why. If HCS is serious about esports then they need mixed inputs to be competitive to increase viewers. I’d start with lowering strafe acceleration, because that’s the main issue for mouse tracking. Instant player directional change is impossible to predict and track on mouse and the only reason controller hasn’t felt the same level of frustration is because the rotational auto aim keeps you on target more consistently. Even with that auto aim it’s still annoying on controller, just less so.
