I want to see Master Chief crush a Spartan IV

I’ve been thinking this scenario over for a while.

I’d love to see an arrogant Spartan IV (who I do not classify as true spartans) just get broken to pieces in a fight with the one an only Master Chief (Spartan II). I want to see the scale and sheer differences as to why Spartan II’s are the best. The contrast between a Spartan IV and a Spartan II in a 1 on 1 fight. Only quick, but enough where we can see why the MC would completely show up the relatively incompetent Spartan IV’s.

I could write a 500 page essay over why Spartan II’s would just crush any Spartan IV in every single aspect possible. But you guys don’t need convincing, you already knew that, didn’t you?

What do you think? In halo 5 guardians do you want to see a 1 on 1 or 1 on 4 fight between a Spartan II and a Spartan IV? I.e MC vs Jameson Locke? Don’t tell me it’d be a close fight. You see Locke in Nightfall? Embarrassing.

What? Uh, okay? What the Hell?

Master Chief is getting hunted by Spartan IV’s including Locke in H5G’s right? Is it not feasible a confrontation may occur? Do some imaginative extrapolation

Your being bias to Spartan IV’s.
Spartan I’s were Spartans, but they were military volunteers without MJONLIR armor and with less augmentations.
Spartan II’s were abducted children with very dangerous augmentations, leaving them to be heartless killers.
Spartan III’s were like Spartan II’s.
Spartan IV’s are military volunteers with new MJONLIR armor and with less extensive augmentations. However they each have their own personalities and are more social, meaning they feel more compassion to others.

Which one is the “real” Spartan?

All of them.

I totally agree. SPARTAN is a series of military programs, not some abstract ideal one needs to live up to.

No matter how cool and super awesome you think Master Chief is he isn’t the best spartan II when it comes to CQC… He isn’t the best Spartan II when it comes to anything but plot armor. Buzz Killington has arrived no matter how much fans argue about it spartan IV’s Gen II armor is on Par if not better than Gen 1 armor. The spartan IV’s are also enhanced as well the only big factor that puts the II’s over the IV’s is their training and experience which would most likely trump any Spartan IV’s training.
But one could argue that an ODST as old as Chief that spent more time in the war fighting than chief who was then offered to become a spartan IV has chief almost matched with experience. So then a hypothetical fight would come down to what? Chiefs Magical Luck factor? To answer your question I don’t really want to see chief fight a IV as the outcome would be painstakingly obvious maybe a different spartan II fighting a IV would be more interesting.

Exactly the fan Bias towards the II’s is kind of ridiculous at this point The III’s and IV’s are even I’s are just as qualified as the II’s.

A Spartan-IV in GEN2 armor is a physical match for a Spartan-II in GEN1. John may have decades of combat experience but his opponent is also a Special Forces veteran. The fight wouldn’t be as one-sided as you’d like.

Hey No using Logic here!!! Chief Pwns All da IV’s all day :stuck_out_tongue:

Simply put we can only wait for Halo 5: Guardians!?

Argue all you want of which Spartan generation is best… deducing who has the best augmentations, training, indoctrination, intelligence, mjolnir power armor systems and experience… Nothing can be truly decided; it matters on the terrain and situation of which the engagement occurs? Stealthy approach or Aggressive confrontation? The most worthy warrior will be the one that truly controls the outcome of the fight… no matter if they are a SII or SIV… both have their equal right to attain the merited rank and renowned status of Spartan!

though your observation is very black and white the correct answer is… the one that gets the job done!

This isn’t the only thing that matters. There are many variables to decide the outcome of a battle ones we can’t even account for. Like did Chief forget to put the toilet seat down this morning? This doubt in his mind distracts him in battle and Locke took advantage of his momentary lapse of judgement and breaks all of chiefs fingers. :stuck_out_tongue: Locke 1 Chief 0

Human beings taking out “superior” opponents in combat is a common theme in science fiction (ex:chief vs didact**;twice**!), so does it really matter who has the superior stats.?

ah, but then Locke begins to wonder if he straitened the picture frame in his front hall before he left home, then BAM. Locke 1 Chief 1

You’re embarrassing and this thread is a joke. You have absolutely no objectivity just like most people who outright bash the IVs despite many of them showing they’re very capable.

The fact that Locke was the one who was even chosen for hunting John down in and of itself proves he’s extremely capable. You don’t choose an incompetent and incapable moron for an extremely important mission like this. Do yourself a favor and take your tinted Spartan II bias glasses off and at least try and look at things objectively. Or is that too hard?

The real spartans are the ones that were created by Halsey due to the geas she received from the Librarian. The fact that Halsey irrationally hates them shows that they don’t match up to the Librarian’s standard.

It’s been stated by Halsey, Paragnosky, Osman, and others that Chief is the best. Halsey said his genome was extraordinary even when compared to the other candidates. As for GEN 2 making them equal strength, Master Chief has killed hundreds and possibly thousands of brutes who are multiples stronger than him

Prior to reach only 3 S-IIs died in 27 years of war with the covenant. At least 10 S-IV’s died on Requiem alone against of bunch of under supplied religious fanatics.

Or Halsey is just irrationally hating them without getting to know them. The Spartan-IVs are the next step for humanity, the Librarian didn’t just seed the ideas for MJOLNIR, AIs and augmentations for just one generation of Spartans.

Petty Officer, Master Chief John, Spartan 117 - Will undoubtedly beat the Spartan IVs

Yeah I was about to say the same thing. Also “Under supplied religious fanatics”? someone forgot about the unending armies of Prometheans.
