I want to see him get scared, angry, lost and at a breaking point.
Even though he is a Spartan he has limits and to make a better character out of him I think you’re going to have to push him.

I think it would be good for storyline but aren’t Spartans specially trained to do the opposite of this?

Yes, if this Ancient Evil is as bad as it is supposed to be then I want to see him at a loss.

I suppose, it will be new and venturing for both Cortana & Chief, can’t wait to see how Cortana’s long stretch of life comes into play.

After the death of Johnson, I don’t think he could get really angry anymore.

I want to see John actually frightened. It would add a lot of depth to his character. The only time I’ve ever seen him frightened was in Halo: The Flood

Spartans don’t get scared, and they can’t break. Maybe lost is possible but the other two are not happening to a spartan.

This is true… but could you imagine it happening to MC? Maybe that’s a future story for Halo 5 or 6…

John is one tough SOB, but he isn’t exactly invincible physically or mentally, he’ll have to be pushed at some point.

In the book “The Flood” MC does get pushed to his limits while fighting the flood. He still has a stable mind, he is not scared, he seemed more irritated by the fact that he was getting to his limits.

Every man has his threshold.
At this point the only thing I can see straining Chief is if something happened to Cortana. I mean, I wouldn’t cross that mother -Yoink- normally, but if Cortana was being messed with, he’d probably be like Kratos with Battle Rifle.

John would be upset if Cortana got destroyed.
He wouldn’t feel like he did when Sam died or any other Spartan of his.
OP you have a great idea. However…it would be strange…
